About the adventure
This campaign kicks off with Secret of the Unlit Star, an introductory delve into the Pathfinder 2e Remastered rules. From there, we move into Troubles in Grayce, where you will rise to face the challenge of a town being overrun by all manner of strange creatures. For those with a true thirst for adventure, the path doesn't need to end there. Partly willing, we will transition into the Bastion of Blasphemies—a massive, Castlevania-inspired megadungeon releasing this July. As your Game Master, I prioritize a cinematic experience using Foundry VTT to bring the shadows of Ustalav to life. Whether you are a brand-new player looking for a definitive starting point or a veteran ready to storm the heights of a dark citadel, there is a place for you at the table. Join now, and see if you have what it takes to survive the rising tide of darkness.

Meet the Game Master
About me
Greetings traveler, I'm Shane and perhaps I'll soon be whisking your away on a new adventure. I started roleplaying when I was about 10 years old; fast forward a few decades and I'm still as obsessed as ever. I began with original Dungeons & Dragons, progressing through every edition and a myriad of other RPG systems. Burnt out on corporate life, we packed up, left the city and moved to a tiny little town in New Zealand. While spending some time soul searching I started running RPGs for multiple groups and after receiving great feedback I thought I'd take the path less travelled and see if I could make a modest living running games. I'm easy going and open minded. I see roleplaying as the ultimate form of escapism and my players get to cast off their real world burdens each week for a few hours of adventure, excitement and laughter. Take up your sword, prepare your spells, and join me on an adventure.

Creating your character
If joining from the start, we will arrange a session zero to discuss character options as a group. Pregenerated characters will also be available if you just want to jump in. If you are totally new to Pathfinder, feel free to ignore everything following and get in touch, and we'll work through it together. The adventure path begins at 1st level and we will use milestone experience; joining later will just have you join at the current party level. You can create your characters in Pathbuilder, although it is better to use this as a guide to rebuild them in Foundry, as the import can sometimes create issues. We will use the gradual ability boost, free archetype, and automatic rune progression variant rules. Uncommon options are likely a yes (as long as they make sense for your character and meet prerequisites). Third-party options such as the + series of books are likely okay. For rare options, definitely check in with me first.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
You'll need a Discord account and join the DiceKnights Discord server, as well as a Chrome-based browser to access Foundry VTT. We will also do a bit of a self-introduction: name, where in the world you are from, experience with RPGs, and Pathfinder 2e specifically.
What Shane brings to the table
I would describe myself as down to earth and approachable. I am a person at the table just like everyone else. I have two character voices and both of them are bad. I do, however, put a lot of effort into expanding the adventure path, making changes based on previous run-throughs or community experience, adding ambient music, and improving maps and tokens.
Homebrew rules
Hero Points - Everyone starts with 1 and gets an extra one after the mid-session break. If a reroll from a hero point results in less than 10, add 10 to that number.

How Shane creates a safe table
We will discuss safety in Session 0. I am easily contactable before and after games, and the X card can be anonymously digitally displayed during the game. In general my games are about as gritty as Lord of the Rings, no excessive gore or sexual content. If it comes up, it's a fade to black.
