About the adventure
Beginner friendly game, all players welcome. After arriving to the Covenantstone Crossroads in preparation for a Highstorm that's about to arrive, the group and a caravan resting there are attacked by a mysterious group. A series of events leads to the party chasing the attackers through the continent, visiting places like the Shattered Planes' war camps, the Valley and more. Will the party be able to catch up to their targets? Will they arm themselves with Shards, powerful armours and weapons from the distant past? Will they create intricate fabrial, feats of engineering that replicate or change the forces of the world? And maybe most important, will they recite the ancient oaths, long forgotten, once again? This Campaign will take you from levels 1 to 8 on a thrilling adventure across Roshan, the setting of Brandon Sanderson's Stormlight Archive series, visiting places that fans of the books might recognize and others that only have been mentioned in passing.

About me
I became a DM in 2020 when a game of DnD I was playing in fizzled out. At that point I'd been playing for a while and was also a fan of actual play shows so one day I realized that I already new a lot of the rules and felt like I could give a shot to the whole running a game thing, the rest is history. I've never run a payed game but I felt like I could give it a try because I really like GMing. I'm running a couple of games atm but none consistently enough because of scheduling reasons and so I'm not really satified, again, I really like GMing. I'm very beginner friendly, I consider myself to be patient and I taught most of my friends how to play DnD when I started DMing and now Call of Cthulhu and the Cosmere RPG, with the later one I'm obviously quite new but working on it. I'm also eager to run a Vampire the Mascarade game at some point.

Creating your character
First of all we'll have a session 0 where everyone will meet and share what they want to play. There are a number of pregen level 1 characters available from other modules if someone would like to use them as a base or play them as they are, but I imagine most people would want to create their own character. In case they want to do so and need help to go through the process I'd be happy to help them. In any case, be it pregen, with my help or autonomously, I will work with everyone on their backstories, goals, purposes and obstacles if they want to make sure they fit the campaign.
We'll decide if we want to play weekly or bi-weekly depending on availability of the group
What to expect
Preparing for the session
They should have a Roll20 and a Discord account. At the moment that's what I use to run the games. I'm looking into transitioning into Foundry as I like how the compendium and mods there work but it's a work in progress. Even if the change happens during the campaign, it will be nearly seamless to the players as the only thing they'll need to do is connect to the game and play.
What Miguel brings to the table
I'm pretty good when it comes to explaining rules to new players and I have an encyclopedic knowledge of the setting, if read the original books way to many times lol. When it comes to NPC I'm no professional voice actor but I think I do a decent job a portraying different characters and I try to add to the immersion by using sound effects and background music. To finish up, when it comes to rules, I'm normally go by the books, but I'm very happy to follow the Rule of Cool, particularly when it comes to narratively appropriate moments, Opportunities and the like.
Homebrew rules
None so far but if something comes up during play we can discuss it all together.

How Miguel creates a safe table
Even before the session 0 I have a chat with everyone about triggers, then once we have our first call all together I tend to ask a second time in case someone thought of something and share anything that might have come up with the group so we can avoid it. We'll talk lines and veils there too. I always offer the X, N, O cards as an option and like to keep an Open door policy, and obviously if someone comes up we'll talk about it and decide if it is something new to avoid or it was only part of the circumstances. Even if noone needs to walk away because of something that happend during play I like to take a break more or less at the middle of the session or before a scene that I think will take a while so everyone can get water, snacks, stretch or do whatever they might need.
