About the adventure
Welcome to Teulin, a sombre world carved from the skeletal remains of dead gods where magic is a fading echo. In the shadows of this divine absence, a desperate soul magic has emerged, binding the spirits of the dead into cold suits of Armor. The Vibe This campaign frame is perfect for fans of the dark grit of The Witcher, the melancholic beauty of Dark Souls, and the existential toll of Fullmetal Alchemist. What YOU Will Do In this adventure, you and your party will: Investigate a Mystery: Track down a missing Faun into the terrifying, memory-erasing Soulless Grove. Survive the Rot: Battle possessed beasts and navigate the corrupting rot of a dead dragon. Manage Your Mind: Utilize Daggerheart’s unique mechanics where managing your character's Stress is just as important as surviving a blade. My playstyle emphasizes immersive storytelling, player agency, and a healthy dose of cinematic flair. Expect a balance of challenging combat encounters that require strategic thinking, intricate social roleplaying opportunities where your choices truly matter, and intriguing puzzles that will test your wits.

Meet the Game Master
About me
Welcome, come stay a while and listen! I am a long time gamemaster, and avid tabletop roleplay player. I have been running games for pretty much most of my life from ad hoc adventures in the park when I was a much younger for my friends, regular online sessions, to much grander in person immersive experiences. I always strive to foster a welcoming and safe space for all the people at my table, to allow all to enjoy their hobby. Game Philosophy: - Collaborative Story Telling - we are all here for the same reason, to tell amazing stories, including the gamemaster. - The world is a living one- I like to run games that are fully alive and that the characters are inhabiting, meaning that decisions have consequences, good or bad. - Rules are a framework for a game to enable great moments, if those rules need unique exceptions then so be it. - Player agency - my players are free to choose their own consequences as long as they do not take away from the others at the table. - Serious and Silly - I expect my players to take the story and characters seriously but that does not mean they can not be silly. Roleplay games are meant to be enjoyable, dumb jokes and comedy offers levity to the more serious notes in a story. Favourite Systems: - Dungeons and Dragons - Dark Matter - Call of Cthulhu - Pirate Borg - Alien RPG Thank you for reading this far, if any of this sounds like something you would enjoy then please check out my games or contact me.

Creating your character
Process: Characters start at level 1 and will be built collaboratively during a dedicated Session 0. Homebrew/Third-Party Content: Open to discussion during Session 0 (including "The Void" content). Review: The GM will review all sheets prior to Session 1 to understand the characters and catch any mechanical errors.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Hardware: Players must have a reliable internet connection, a microphone, and a webcam is preferred for engagement, but voice-only is okay if needed. Platforms Used: Discord: For voice and video calls, alongside out-of-game communication. Alchemy RPG: A free account can be made for use of character sheets, digital dice, and cinematic visual backdrops. Onboarding: The GM provides a custom campaign framework document ahead of time to help players integrate into the homebrew setting.
What Rich brings to the table
I strive for an immersive experience, this includes ambient music, cinematic backdrops and occasional voices. Using Alchemy as a fully enhanced Cinematic VTT experience with ambient music, animated motion backdrops, immersive audio and not just a grid map on Roll20. I am of the school of Rule of Cool over the Rules as Written so if you have a creative solution to a problem then go for it. I expect players to want to engage with the story and engage with the other players collaboratively, but the characters are more the welcome to explore any aspect of the story they choose. Any abuse or inter-player conflict will not be tolerated, and I expect the players to expect the same from me.
Homebrew rules
This setting is a Homebrew campaign frame, it does contain some custom Ancestries and unique perspective on certain Classes and Communities as well as unique campaign mechanics. To help with onboarding and if you are interested in the game I have prepared a campaign frame document to look through. This will also give you a fuller idea of the setting. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1gXjYfn4-q5CcvNmVLpaHJDegzNk2cu44/view?usp=sharing

How Rich creates a safe table
Due to the nature of the setting, this game is a 18+ movie rating depending on the table. However I will send a link to a fillable Lines and Veils document to be filled in if needed. I use Alchemy and that has in built Lines and Veils for players with an account as well as X-card system. In game I use the "fade to black" message or audible cue for a topic that a player is uncomfortable with and wants to the scene to end. Any issues that arise in the game that players wish to discus can be done post game privately via video, audio or message.
