About the adventure
Humanity's greatest expedition is about to leave known space behind. Far beyond the borders of Charted Space lies a mystery that has consumed researchers, destroyed expeditions, and driven brilliant minds to madness. The Deepnight Entity is older than civilizations, older than empires, perhaps older than the stars themselves. Fragments of evidence suggest it exists. No one knows what it is. Now, aboard the exploration cruiser *Deepnight Revelation*, humanity is launching its most ambitious mission ever conceived: a twenty-year voyage into the unknown to find answers. As members of the expedition, the Travellers will journey beyond the frontier of explored space. Along the way they will discover uncharted worlds, investigate the ruins of lost civilizations, encounter entirely unknown species, and face challenges ranging from diplomacy and exploration to survival and first contact. Every new system may contain wonders, dangers, or clues that reshape humanity's understanding of the universe. This campaign is a grand science-fiction odyssey focused on exploration, discovery, mystery, leadership, and the consequences of difficult decisions. There is a place aboard *Deepnight Revelation* for scientists, explorers, pilots, engineers, soldiers, diplomats, rogues, and specialists of every kind. Whether serving as part of the command staff or supporting the mission in other ways, the Travellers will help determine the success—or failure—of humanity's greatest expedition. My games emphasize character-driven storytelling, meaningful choices, immersive worldbuilding, and long-term consequences. While danger and conflict certainly exist, this campaign is at its best when uncovering mysteries, making first contact with the unknown, solving problems creatively, and deciding how far the expedition is willing to go in pursuit of the truth. While Traveller is a system I am actively learning, I bring years of professional Game Master experience, long-form campaign design, character-focused storytelling, and collaborative worldbuilding to the table. I am committed to learning the system thoroughly and running a game that is both engaging and faithful to the spirit of Traveller. New and experienced Traveller players alike are welcome aboard. The frontier is behind you. Everything ahead is unknown.

About me
I’m a 37-year-old Game Master with a deep passion for collaborative storytelling, immersive worlds, and long-form character-driven campaigns. Tabletop gaming has been a major part of my life for years, and since shortly before COVID, professional GMing has been my full-time work. Over the years I’ve run multiple systems and settings, with a particular love for D&D 5e, Adventures in Middle-earth, and Chronicles of Darkness. My favorite campaigns tend to blend strong roleplay, atmosphere, mystery, tension, and meaningful character development. I especially enjoy building stories around player backstories and weaving their choices directly into the larger narrative. I also enjoy homebrew design and adapting systems to fit unique settings and themes. Some of my larger projects have included adapting settings like Elden Ring and Dragon Age into D&D, as well as creating crossover and conversion systems involving World/Chronicles of Darkness and Lord of Mysteries. Especially Lord of Mysteries... Some of my favorite settings and inspirations include Middle-earth, Ravenloft, Eberron, Wildemount, Dune, and the World of Darkness universe. Outside of online GMing, I’ve also been working on building an after-school LARPing program focused on creativity, storytelling, teamwork, and roleplay for younger players.

Creating your character
Session 0 will likely be a full session dedicated to character creation as well as going over campaign expectations. Traveller uses a unique character creation system in which your character's history, career, skills, contacts, and life experiences are generated through play. Character creation is one of the most beloved parts of the game, and I will guide players through the process step by step. No prior Traveller experience is required. Characters will be created using the Mongoose Traveller 2nd Edition rules. Additional campaign-specific guidance will be provided as needed. Because Deepnight Revelation is an exploration-focused campaign, players are encouraged to think about how their character contributes to the mission, whether as a scientist, explorer, pilot, engineer, diplomat, security specialist, or another vital member of the crew. This campaign emphasizes teamwork, problem-solving, discovery, and character development. While individual expertise is important, the expedition's success depends on the crew working together to overcome the challenges of the unknown.

What Ashley brings to the table
# What I Provide My games emphasize character-driven storytelling, meaningful choices, immersive worldbuilding, and collaborative problem-solving. I enjoy creating living settings that react to player decisions and giving characters opportunities to grow, develop relationships, pursue personal goals, and leave a lasting impact on the story. Players can expect: * Rich exploration and discovery * Meaningful character development * Memorable NPCs with their own goals and motivations * First-contact scenarios and diplomatic challenges * Mysteries to investigate and secrets to uncover * A collaborative and welcoming table environment I use ambient music, maps, visual handouts, and character voices when appropriate to help establish atmosphere and immersion. Deepnight Revelation is a campaign about exploration and the unknown, so I place a strong emphasis on wonder, discovery, and the consequences of the choices the crew makes throughout the expedition. When rules questions arise, I prefer to make a quick ruling to keep the game moving and revisit the rule after the session if needed. I value consistency and fairness, but I don't like allowing lengthy rules debates to interrupt the flow of play. I generally favor a moderate Rule of Cool approach when it serves the story and remains fair to everyone at the table. While combat certainly has a place in the campaign, Deepnight Revelation is not primarily about tactical battles. Players who enjoy exploration, investigation, leadership, diplomacy, problem-solving, and character-focused storytelling will find the most to enjoy aboard humanity's greatest expedition.
Homebrew rules
Reviews of the campaign make it clear that some rules created for this story should be ignored. Some will need adjusting. We'll do that as needed.

How Ashley creates a safe table
Player comfort is important to me, especially in a campaign that explores horror, mystery, madness, and other potentially sensitive themes. Before the campaign begins, players will have the opportunity to establish Lines and Veils, which will be shared with the group and respected throughout the campaign. This document is considered a living resource and may be updated at any time. During Session 0, we will discuss campaign expectations, table etiquette, character concepts, themes, boundaries, and any content players would prefer to avoid. I also use the X Card. Players may use it at any time, either verbally or through Discord chat, to indicate that content should be skipped, changed, or removed. No explanation is required, and player comfort always takes priority. Finally, I encourage open communication. If a player ever has concerns about content, another player, or the direction of the game, I am always available before or after sessions to discuss it privately.
