About the adventure

In this Vampire: The Masquerade 5e game you will traverse the deadly politics of undead society in the shadows of New York. Work your way into power and avoid the monsters who want it too. The local leader has abruptly vanished and the power vacuum has sparked a cold war between the previously tenuous sub-factions of the Camarilla. Everyone wants the power but nobody wants the target on their back. Now its a massive chess match with the entire Big Apple on the line as outside forces watch like vultures to see what rots. Stake your claim and unravel the mystery! Decide your clan, your history, and your plan for making the most of being a creature of the night. Seduce 💋, scheme 😈, and slaughter 💀 your way to the top all while dealing with the oddities of the supernatural world.

About me

GMing for 8 years across D&D, Pathfinder, and various smaller systems, preferring brooding narrative games. I ran in person games before the pandemic but now exclusively use Foundry VTT in which I do custom token art for players and bosses.

Character creation

Creating your character

The game is set in the real world in 2025 New York city. Your character will be someone born within the last 20 to 30 years who has spent only a few months or even weeks as a vampire.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

All you need is Discord and a working browser for Foundry VTT. All links are provided either automatically or when applicable.

What Astray brings to the table

I use accents and voices, ambient music and sound, lean heavily into the rule of cool. After you decide you clan, abilities, and general idea I will hand make token art for you! This will be treated a commission for you to with as you please.

Homebrew rules

I have no homebrew rules as of now but that may change if it suits the campaign. For such a roleplay heavy game I use the rules more as guard rails.

Safety

How Astray creates a safe table

More than other games I must emphasize this game is 18+. This game CAN and WILL involves themes around violence and sex. Nothing explicit but you are vampires so it comes with the territory. All lines and veils will be discussed in session 0 and added to a PDF so that I can reference them later. I reserve the right to pause any session in which someone becomes uncomfortable and either discuss what is the cause or allow an affected player to leave. I will also have private channels for player to message me directly should they feel uncomfortable sharing openly. They may use simple letter like X, N and O to convey levels of consent should they not wish to explain.
