About the adventure
Drakkenheim's World is a darker toned setting ("nobledark"), with centered on a never-before experienced catastrophy that had transpired more than a decade ago. It focuses on the story of a ruined capital city and by figuring out its fate, changing the entire course of history for the rest of the world. The adventurers will be the Protagonists who may come with their own personal goals, but in the end they all will work together to decide that fate. They shall become the shifting tide that moves the wreckage to the methaphorical shore... Still, they will face plenty of challenges, the ruins were not conquered for more than a decade, because of its many dangers. Never before seen monsters, dangerous unnatural hazards, even as simple as resting is challenging in such a place. Players shall expect challenges of moral choices, considering of what is right, and what is must, might not be always the same, but where there is darkness there shall be light too. Mechanically it is also showing new challenges such as a dangerous biohazard corruption, monsters leaning closer to the eldritch horror stories than the classical adventure stories tell. Finally while the World of Drakkenheim is vast, this story centered on one ruined urban area, localized and such adventurers will spend most of their time with its exploration and socialization with the surrounding residents and the intriguing factions that are contesting for their own purposes. This also means that the choices and their results will be not just told, but experienced over the campaign's progress! Still, if the group desires it shall not end only there, the World of Drakkenheim is a vast playing field.

About me
Hello there, I am Dave a GM for more than a decade doing professional games on Roll20 since 2018, having more than 10 thousand hours in it, but still with the same passionate fire that is burning from the very start. While I adore many rpg settings, I am always drawn back to the "medieval fantasy" ones and such mainly focusing on D&D with its current 5 edition. My strong suits include that I am the kind of GM who gets annoyed by his own mistakes and continously tries to evolve to make it a better game for both my players and myself. While one of my weakpoint is voice acting, which though sometimes I try it is a forever lacking department. I live in Hungary and such as I am in the CEST timezone, but due to focusing only on this as my work and hobby, I might host games at times based on more of my players' need.

Creating your character
It will be handled hopefully a week before the first actual play session, after we had a Session 0 discussion. I will personally guide and aid my players to create characters that are not just mechanically, but narratively will be part of the story. Providing additional handouts and informative texts to make sure they have plenty of options and choices, but with knowing what direction they should take. I won't reject automatically any content, but if it is really not matching will try to find a compromise. Be this about statistical balance, or narrative choices. - All characters will be represented on either Roll20 for token purposes, or on DnDbeyond where I have all the available books at our disposal to share. Best worlds if both is used. :D
What to expect
Preparing for the session
This is an only voice game, so a working headset/mic is absolutely necessary with a calm background. They also required to have an account for Discord, Roll20 and DnDBeyond. All free and easy to access. Communication would be going through discord server, all contet accessable through dndbeyond and Roll20 will provide our virtual table server. I will provide links for all of these websites and programs to create servers where we will play.
What Nethersall brings to the table
The digital support that makes the game work, including all the books and material that the adventure will require. I use simple character voices and support the mood with various ambient music (without lyrics). I will bring the same level of enthusiastic energy for each game which shall resonate with your own. Players often say my important fights are hard, but victory feels earned and I like to challenge not just their luck, but their tactical mindset and their cooperation. I always seek balance at my table, but never aiming to sacrifice the overall group fun for its sake. So yes, I might say no to a plasma gun no matter how nice you ask, but riding a dinosaur with a lasso, roll me a check. :)
Homebrew rules
I tend to use a light set of homebrew rules each with the interest of enabling the players to do more, or clarify options beforehand to avoid in-game stalling issues. Example: - Allowing Opportunity Attacks even if you cannot See the attacker, but know their location and Hear them leaving your reach. (so a non-hidden enemy can still get caught)

How Nethersall creates a safe table
Before the Session 0 players will recieve a consent checking document, so I will be able to avoid material that is sensitive. When we have a session that is clearly filled with emotions we take potential break(s) (even player insisted ones) and/or have an after the session debriefing so we can avoid "bleeding effect". I tend to check up on my players as well if I notice less activity and such, just to make sure that they are still comfortable at our virtual table.
