About the adventure

This is an entry level game to Daggerheart, it is based on one of the campaign frames in it's main book. I have a bunch of experience running games in this system and I would like to share it's awesomeness with others. I already have 2 players and I am looking for 3 more. Join us if you like involved and interesting role play and making characters that are in tune with the world and setting, if you like crunchy combat, don't worry me too :) A little bit more about the setting: The Witherwilds were plunged into chaos by the action of one man, the ach mage Phylanx, who, in his hubris, stole the eye of a goddess. Nikta used to watch over this land with the eye of sowing and the eye of reaping, now that the eye of sowing is gone, the lands of Fanewick and Haven are both locked in a magical and endless spring. For some, this is a paradise. But a rotten sickness stirs in the blooms. A deasies known as the withering struck Fanewick, turning it's beasts and people alike into blood thirsty monsters. At the same time an affliction known as the serpents sickness took hold in Haven and begun turning it's people into stone. You are adventures from the Witherwilds and you have the power to restore balance to this ancient land. Will you answer the call? This game will have themes of exploration, environmentalism, folk horror and complex morality. Of course more themes my arise by the characters you will create.

About me

Hello! my name is Hillel, I am a 22 year old dude who loves everything fantasy. ever since I was a child I was fascinated with dnd, I played in one form or another since I was 7. Six years ago, I begun DMing for a small group of friends and never stopped since. At this point I have six completed campaigns that were at least from level 2-12 and all of them occurred in my Homebrew high fantasy world of Tir'. I love DMing, it's my passion. The communal story telling, the Heros and Villans, the narratives and the lively vibrant world I've made with the 25 odd players who inhabited Tir' at one point or another will always hold a place in my heart. I want to make these worlds and forge these memories with YOU. (For a small fee :) ) Specifically I am interested in broadening my horizons and trying out new systems such as Daggerheart, Draw steel, Blades in the dark and Call of Cathulu.

Character creation

Creating your character

We will have a session 0 in which we will discuss the backstory, connections and relationships of the characters in the party and we will build them mechanically, feel free to send me backstory before the session 0 so we can compare and draw parallels between charters, we can make your character on a sheet of paper or in online in Daggerheart/demiplane. Both options work for me. What's most important to me is that your character feels involved and connected to the world, it will make it easier for me to write compelling quests that will keep you excited and engaged. I recommend you read the Witherwilds campaign frame in the Daggerheart book or online before making the character so you can have some points of reference.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Make an account in discord and roll20 if you don't have one. Recommend reading and watching: the Witherwilds campaign frame, princess mononoke, Oxventure presents: Wyrdwood.

What Hilel brings to the table

I have a lot of experience making many different voices for other games, I'm very good at connecting player backstory to each other and to the main plot. I have an arsenal of Czepeku maps and a love for ambient and combat music. Expect challenging combat but no strict adherence to the rules, only what makes our game fun and memorable.

Homebrew rules

You can recieve scars when you go down in Daggerheart, this affects your in game resources but in my game you also deal more damage to sort of show your character becoming more ruthless.

Safety

How Hilel creates a safe table

I believe in Lines and Vails, a Line is a boundery that cannot be crossed (for example for me it's animal abuse) and a Vail is something that needs to be discussed with care (romance for example) we will have a conversation about the most prominent Lines and Vails for each player at session one, myself and any other players will strictly follow what is requested. A player that crosses a line will be promptly kicked out of the game. I will also send you the Monte cook's consent in gaming form, for a more detailed understanding of your particular boundaries.
