About the adventure
Under cover of darkness, you gather your compatriots and hatch a dangerous plot. Your overlords have ignored the plight of your people for as long as you can remember, content to extract the fruits of your land and labor while bandits, devils, and monsters run rampant. You've seen what happens to those who speak out or try to help. Kidnapped. Thrown in the dungeons. Tried for treason or espionage. Executed in a diabolic spectacle, to the glory of Hell. Used as an excuse for a brutal reign of terror, and a war that has brewed for decades. Tonight, that changes. And amidst this flux and fury, those who dare have a chance to seize their destiny. Raid the strongholds of your enemies. Uncover the truth behind the colonizer's conspiracies. Put the lie to their propaganda. Set free the country's dissidents. Show the people that revolt is possible, that they can take up arms and win the independence that's been denied them for centuries. The eyes of your countrymen are all on you. But so, too, are those of ancient powers, dormant since the days of first conquest. They, too, are eager to exploit the chaos for their own war of independence, one that may strangle your free home in its cradle...

About me
To you who join me at the table, welcome home! Through astronomy modeling to folklore research, amidst fraught years in game design school and software engineering, from comic stage plays to dramatic recitals... I've taken a twisting path to role-playing games. Each of these former roles has taught me invaluable lessons, which I bring to the table. Confidence in my ability to improvise character moments. A systematizing mind to design challenges that test characters to their limits. Technical aptitude to use virtual tabletops to their fullest. An instinct for tapping into characters' hidden motives and how they can elevate drama. And an abiding appreciation for the shared humanity that binds us all together. Let us weave new stories together, full of mirth and mischief, love and laughter, and no shortage of groan-inducing puns.

Creating your character
Prior to your first session, create a character of level and wealth matching the party in your game's Foundry server. I recommend a premium account on Pathbuilder (https://pathbuilder2e.com/), which supports character creation using the table's variant rules and allow for easy import into Foundry via the Pathmuncher module (https://foundryvtt.com/packages/pathmuncher). For detailed character creation options and restrictions, refer to the "Homebrew Rules" section. For information about the current party composition and any third-party rules the table has agreed to use, see the "Recruitment Notes" section. You're also welcome to use the game's dedicated character creation channel on Discord to propose builds and coordinate with other players, or to use the GM as a resource for answering questions or importing characters into the game server.

What Saoirse, Veil Adept brings to the table
In my rendition of "Hellbreakers", you can look forward to: 👥 Leadership: Your war of independence rests on the backs of its people. Through your example, inspire them to take up arms with the Hellbreakers League, growing your organization from a desperate band of fugitives into an army that can take the fight to the colonizers. 🕵️ Intrigue: Navigate the conundrums and contradictions of the revolution. Can you maintain a fractious coalition of diverse freedom fighters, each with their own vision for an independent realm? How will you leverage the aid of outside powers, when it comes with strings attached that may make you their puppets? And what do you owe the distant past, scarred as it is with the blood of those who never got a chance to fight for freedom? 🌟 Immersion: Enjoy a premium VTT experience with sophisticated automation, varied soundtracks, and an extensive library of maps for expanded, customized adventures.

How Saoirse, Veil Adept creates a safe table
Hellbreakers generally presents action and adventure that abides by the Pathfinder Baseline guidelines set forth in Player Core (https://2e.aonprd.com/Rules.aspx?ID=2265). However, the adventure's frame of an anticolonial uprising touches on themes of war, oppression, and political violence that have clear parallels with our world. New players should fill out my safety information entrance survey, accessible through preparation materials. I will compile all players' responses into a palette of story elements to highlight, keep subtextual, or remove from play. At the table, I hold a 10-minute mid-session break, and I allow players to leave the game for any reason. At the session's end, I highlight contributions from other players, and I encourage others to do the same. Safety cards are integrated into my Foundry server for immediate problems, and my DMs are open for players to ask questions and raise concerns outside of table time.
