About me

Hi, I’m David, a Game Master from Cologne, Germany, with over 30 years of TTRPG experience. My journey began in 1995, at age 9 with classics like Earthdawn, Shadowrun, and Vampire: The Masquerade. Over the decades, I’ve explored nearly every major system, including all editions of Dungeons & Dragons, Call of Cthulhu, and Cyberpunk, before finding my home in Pathfinder 2nd Edition in 2019. Since 2020, I’ve been running games via Foundry VTT, hosting everything from open-world Westmarches style worlds to deep, character-driven long-term campaigns. My style thrives on rules-heavy tactical combat paired with light-hearted, character-focused roleplay. I enjoy creating dynamic battlefields and engaging narratives where player choices matter, though I typically focus less on heavy political intrigue or complex puzzle solving. Whether you’re looking for a structured campaign or a flexible episodic adventure, I bring decades of storytelling passion and mechanical expertise to the table. Let’s create something memorable together.

Character creation

Creating your character

You can create your character using Pathbuilder or directly in Foundry, using the "Pf2e Leveler Module". I am happy to assist you if you are new to the game or have questions. ⚀ Gradual Ability Boost ⚁ Free Archetype ⚂ 3rd Party Content like Team+ and other optional variant Rules to be decided in Session 0.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

We use Discord for Voice Comms, Video if wanted (Camera optional, but I often have it active) and Chat between Sessions. We use Foundry as Virtual Tabletop with a host of Modules to help increase automation, animation and vibes. (hosted via https://sqyre.app, requires a Free Account)

What David brings to the table

Collaborative Storytelling: My philosophy is "Yes, and..." I really enjoy turning your chaotic ideas into plot points. You will rarely hear "you can't do that"! Instead, I would like to find a way to make your ideas work within the rules. Living Worlds: Every faction, location, and NPC is either faithfully represented or hand-crafted. Your decisions shape the narrative, altering your impact on the storyline in a visible, lasting way. Foundry VTT Expertise: I provide a polished, and technically advanced Foundry experience. Expect dynamic scenes, automation for convenience, and beautiful visual presentation to help immerse you from session one. Inclusive Table Management: Whether you are a veteran, "munchkin", or a complete beginner, I offer patient rule explanations and will always try to make sure everyone gets their moment in the spotlight. The Perfect Balance: I strike a sweet spot between creative freedom and fair guardrails, blending drama, lore, and the right amount of levity.

Homebrew rules

No Homebrew planned right now, but happy to discuss at Session 0! By default, I am expecting to run Free Archetype and Gradual Ability Boost as Variant Rules. This, too, can be Discussed in Session 0.

Safety

How David creates a safe table

I believe that the best stories happen when players feel safe to take risks. To ensure this, I maintain a structured approach to table safety: Mandatory Session 0: Before the first dice roll, we meet to get acquainted, discuss character creation, and openly talk about expectations, hard limits, and specific needs. This sets the foundation for a trusting group dynamic. The Monte Cook RPG Consent Checklist: I utilize this industry-standard tool to tailor our game experience. We will discuss themes of violence, horror, and interpersonal drama to ensure nothing at the table offends or distresses anyone. Decompression: Every session includes a 15-minute break at halftime. This ensures everyone can step away, stretch, and reset, keeping energy levels high and mental fatigue low.
