About the adventure

A hazy wind sweeps through the ruined city of Drakkenheim, the destroyed capital of Westemär. Its been 15 years since that fateful eve and the urban wasteland is is contaminated with otherworldly magic and haunted by hideous monsters. Rumors spread of fantastic wealth, lost knowledge, and powerful artifacts that lie ready for the taking within the ruins. You arrive in Drakkenheim ready to pursue your own goals. In the meantime, freelance missions from the local factions help keep you fed and a roof over your head. Exploring the ruins of Drakkenheim you'll have to contend with the mysterious haze and risk becoming contaminated with the strange magic of delirium. In Dungeons of Drakkenheim, you will not only build a future for your character but for the fate of the city itself. Five factions seek to advance their goals, take control, and enact their master plans. Who will be your allies? Who will earn your loyalty? And who will finally rule over Drakkenheim. As your Dungeon Master, I focus on story-driven gameplay, immersive roleplay, and harrowing combat. I’ll bring the NPCs to life, provide interesting challenges, and make sure every session feels like part of a bigger adventure. If you want strategy, storytelling, or just smashing monsters, there’s something here for YOU. What to expect: Grimdark Horror D&D adventure for levels 1 - 13 Explore monster-filled ruins, haunted streets, and ancient castles Discover a web of factions, secrets, and sabotage Pursue personal goals in addition to the main adventure Battle terrifying monsters created by the mysterious meteor Drakkenheim needs heroes. Will you be the ones to stand against the haze? “My best tip for staying alive in Drakkenheim is to just kill everything that moves. No time to ask questions. Hesitation is dangerous.” — Sebastian Crowe

About me

Hi my name is Craig and I've been running games for 4 years now but it feels like I've been doing it my whole life. I love running games for new players but I'm open to all experience levels. Three things I encourage the most in my games are collaborative world building, character creativity, and inclusiveness. I find the games I enjoy running the most are those where the players and characters are tied to the setting and the story emerging at the table. My favorite is to run published adventures in my homebrew world of Aechron so the players and I can create our own unique version of the story. I enjoy D&D quite a bit but I am looking forward to playing and running other games like Shadowdark, Daggerheart, and the Stormlight Archive when that comes out.

Character creation

Creating your character

Character creation will happen during a session 0. Characters should start at level 1 and be made on dndbeyond. I encourage official sources and have many player options available on my dndbeyond account. keep these guidelines in mind when making your character: - use the 2024 rules options - characters will be level 1 - for stats use standard array or point buy - use the 2024 players handbook and Dungeons of Drakkenheim for classes, subclasses, and spells - connect yourself with Drakkenheim Backgrounds, and/or a personal quest - anything else requires approval from DM - starting equipment only, nothing extra

What to expect

Preparing for the session

To join the adventure please - join the discord server - use dndbeyond for your character sheets - have mic and a webcam - use an app or notebook to take notes

What Craig brings to the table

I love using ambient music to help set the mood. In DnDBeyond I can share all of the 2024 books as well as Xanathar's, Tasha's, and Fizban's. I also have access to CzePeku maps, scenes, and tokens so I can make awesome tokens for your characters. I try to stick to RAW as much as I can but the Rule of Cool comes out every session.

Homebrew rules

- award inspiration on a nat 1 or nat 20 on a d20 test - death saves have the option to be hidden or open

Safety

How Craig creates a safe table

During session zero we go over lines and veils using the digital deck of player safety. During sessions there is an option for in Owlbear Rodeo to anonymously send an X card to the DM as well as anonymously send a warning that content is getting close to crossing a line. After sessions we do a round of Stars and Wishes. I also encourage players to message me at any time with questions or concerns.
