About the adventure
Stonetop is a game about home. At the edge of the known world, beneath the shadow of an ancient standing stone, lies a small Iron Age village surrounded by wilderness, ruins, hungry things, and the remnants of older worlds. The people of Stonetop are not wandering mercenaries chasing gold or glory. They are hunters, traders, herders, warriors, and mystics who belong to this place. When danger rises from the hills, when winter bites too hard, when old gods stir beneath forgotten cairns, YOU are the ones who must answer. This campaign focuses on hearth fantasy: dangerous journeys into the wild contrasted against the warmth and familiarity of home. The tone is grounded, mythic, and human. The world is muddy roads, rough stone walls, smoky hearths, ancient barrows, strange omens, and stories whispered around the fire. Magic exists, but it is rare, uncanny, and often frightening. Every expedition matters because you always have something worth returning to. Play will emphasize exploration, difficult choices, community relationships, survival, and long-term consequences. The village itself changes over time based on your actions: seasons pass, people remember what you’ve done, opportunities emerge, and old threats grow if ignored. Expect tense travel, strange discoveries, hard bargains, and moments of quiet humanity between danger and loss. Violence is real and costly, but courage, loyalty, and ingenuity matter more than combat prowess alone. This game is for players who enjoy collaborative storytelling, character-driven roleplay, emergent worldbuilding, and slow-burn campaign play. If you like folklore, low fantasy, wilderness travel, community drama, and the feeling of building legends around a single place over many sessions, you’ll probably feel at home in Stonetop.

About me
I never got into D&D in the early days—it looked too complicated at first glance, and none of my friends played it. We talked about it, but it felt like the final boss of nerd-dom, and even we weren’t ready. What wasn’t too nerdy for our edgy little selves was Vampire: The Masquerade. Nobody wanted to run it, and I fancied myself a decent writer, so I volunteered. That was that—I became the forever GM, and I’ve never looked back. Since then, the world’s come around, and RPGs have gone mainstream. These days, while I’ve run plenty of D&D, I tend to prefer systems like Genesys, Mothership, or Mythic Bastionland—games that prioritize creativity and storytelling over crunch. Not that I'm rules-averse. I just prefer to tell a story instead of refereeing a war game. What keeps me coming back is simple: I love riffing off what players come up with and building weird, memorable stories together. If you like narrative-first adventures, a dash of humor, and a GM who thrives on the unexpected, let’s roll some dice.

Creating your character
Character creation will be done as a group during session zero and session one, depending on how long everything takes. We will be following the character creation guidelines for Stonetop, which means there can be a lot of back and forth and questions for things, which means it will take some time.

What Krispy Demon brings to the table
Through the course of this campaign my goal is to connect each player to the world of Stonetop and feel as if it is a place they can call home. It will be shaped by the character's action and inaction. I like to spend time with roleplay scenes and really bring the NPCs to life with their own personalities and voices. I spend a lot of time setting up ambient soundtracks not just for tense moments, but also for the long treks away from home or restful moments with loved ones. The audio experience is very important to me, especially with something so focused on theater-of-the-mind as Stonetop is. In the end, the game is about collaborative world-building and storytelling. I will not have all the answers because some questions will be up to you to answer.

How Krispy Demon creates a safe table
We will be using lines and veils which will be discussed in session 0 and kept posted on the game table. That being said, it is a living document, so if anything comes up do not hesitate to say something. I believe in a safe gaming space, so while there may be some fictional bigotry in the setting (assuming the players are all okay with it), any mistreatment or disrespect of the other players will not be tolerated.
