Character creation

Creating your character

Join the Discord so you can meet the rest of the group and talk about characters. ADVICE FOR PLAYERS • Play characters you care about. Yes, they are going to die, but their journey can be filled with meaning if the characters themselves have meaning. Start with someone you love and do everything you can in the short time you have with them. • Try a character type—or a party composition—you might never consider for a longer campaign. A party of four wizards might be fun, and will live just as long as a balanced one! • Commit fully to the high stakes of the story, given circumstances, and goals. The best choices lean into your character being a hero destined for greatness. ROLL20 CHARACTER CREATION Use the link in the game prep email (or on your dashboard) to join the Roll20 game. We'll be using the 2024 Player's Handbook, the Heroes of Faerun, and Eberron Forge of the Artificer for characters. Launch Roll20 game. In top right, choose the Journal (book with stars icon). In Player Characters folder, open the character sheet to use the Charactermancer to make your selections (choose Standard Array and standard equipment), and add your name in parenthesis behind the character name so I know who to assign it to. - Characters should get along with others. Please do not choose the "do not trust others" trait. - There are no evil characters, "neutral" characters that are veiled evil characters, no emo loners who don't trust others. - Fill in physical description and personality traits, ideals, bonds and flaws. - Edit your Roll20 character sheet to include desired round token image, or you can send token image to Ajax DM via Discord, or request to select one from Ajax DM collection in Roll20. - If you require a familiar or Wild Shape forms, etc., please alert Ajax DM well before the game.
