Welcome to the perfect starting point for Dungeons & Dragons 2024! The town of Phandalin lies at the edge of civilization, surrounded by wild forests, goblin raiders, and forgotten ruins. Beneath its hills rests the legendary Lost Mine of Phandelver, a place of treasure and danger that many have died trying to claim. This campaign is designed for beginners and returning players. If you’ve never played D&D before, this is the ideal place to learn. We will take things step by step, explain the rules as we go, and make sure everyone is comfortable. No experience is required, and you do not need to prepare anything in advance. All you need is your imagination and a willingness to dive into adventure. About me
Hello adventurers, I’m Ted! I am a full-time professional Dungeon Master with over 1000 sessions of Dungeons & Dragons 5th Edition experience. I began running games professionally in 2021, but my love for tabletop roleplaying started long before that around real tables with close friends. That sense of camaraderie, immersion, and shared storytelling is something I strive to bring into every campaign I run online. I specialize in long-term, character-driven adventures where player choices matter and the world reacts naturally to the party’s actions. Whether you’re exploring cursed lands, navigating political intrigue, or facing impossible moral decisions, I aim to make every session feel memorable and emotionally engaging. Being Greek born and raised has also given me an unexpected advantage as a DM: my NPCs naturally carry the flavor and atmosphere of old-world fantasy settings, especially in darker and gothic campaigns such as Curse of Strahd. I primarily run official Wizards of the Coast adventures, though I’m always open to preparing additional material or custom experiences for dedicated groups. Above all else, I value consistency, communication, and creating a table where players feel comfortable investing in both their characters and the story. My goal is not simply to run a game, but to build a campaign players genuinely look forward to every week. I would be honored to guide your next adventure.

Creating your character
Characters will be created before the start of the first session. I will have a chat with every player separately and give them a quick intro into Roll20 and how character creation works. We will go ahead and create the level 1 character on Roll20 together! We will use the Standard Array method for every character, meaning the starting stats are 15, 14, 13, 12, 10, and 8. Players then assign these numbers to their character's six ability scores (Strength, Dexterity, Constitution, Intelligence, Wisdom, and Charisma) in any order they choose, adding racial ability score bonuses afterward.
On the first session, we will go over the ins and outs of Roll20 very quickly, decide on the party composition and get into gameplay instantly! Players are free to create their own character or select one of the premade ones that I will have ready for everyone. The characters will be level 1.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
All players need to have a Discord and a Roll20 account. We will be playing on my own Discord server, the invite will be sent by me on private message here after a player signs up. A Syrinscape account is also needed, I will be streaming soundscapes and music to all the players from there. All of the above are of course free!
What Ted the Dungeon Master | 1000+ Sessions Hosted brings to the table
I keep the game beginner-friendly and welcoming. If you’re new, I’ll guide you through character creation and explain rules as we play. Expect a mix of roleplay, combat, and exploration. I like giving NPCs fun personalities and voices, and I use music and sound to set the mood. Combat is tactical but not overwhelming, and I reward creative ideas with the Rule of Cool. My main goal is to make sure everyone’s having fun and gets a chance to shine.
Homebrew rules
-Potions: You can drink a potion as a bonus action (roll normally). Drinking it as a full action heals for the maximum amount. Feeding a potion to an unconscious ally takes a bonus action. -Critical Hits: On a crit, one of your damage dice is maximized and the rest are rolled as normal. Example: A longsword crit (1d8) becomes 8 + 1d8 + modifiers.
