About the adventure

Auntie Bea's new candy store is the talk of the town! How does she make her magical treats, and how can she afford to sell them so cheaply? What secrets is this lovable granny hiding? If you are curious, join me for this investigation-focused adventure! "Sticky Toffee" is a "fantastic lair" adventure by Sly Flourish, the Lazy DM - here lovingly converted to Pathfinder 2nd Edition by yours truly. It is a short adventure for 3rd level characters, and does not require any familiarity with the game system. If you have any questions, please get in touch! Or, if you have an existing group that you would like to share a sickeningly sweet treat with, contact me to set up a private session for your party.

About me

Greetings, adventurers. My name is George, and I have been immersing myself in TTRPGs since around 2001. My journey into the realm of Game Mastering took a serious turn with the release of Pathfinder. My background in theatre, history, and education has been instrumental in shaping my GM style, which emphasizes dramatic conflict, challenging decisions, and character development. I’ve had the pleasure of engaging with a diverse and international player population, both online and in person. This experience has enriched my understanding of the game and its global appeal. The games I run are primarily drawn from official Paizo publications for Pathfinder, supplemented by key resources from publishers like Kobold Press and Sly Flourish. In each campaign, I make it a point to engage with the player characters’ backgrounds. This begins with a session zero where we collaboratively create characters that align with the theme of the campaign. Each campaign I run is a unique world unto itself. I strive to create a distinctive and consistent atmosphere for each one, whether it’s the dark and grim tone of a horror campaign or the epic battles of a high fantasy adventure. Some campaigns may include unique mechanics tailored to their theme. My games, even when played remotely online, aim to emulate the feel of a traditional tabletop experience as much as possible. I prefer to keep technology from overwhelming the gameplay, allowing us to focus on the human elements of the game - the people around our virtual table. I am always available to answer questions through this site. If you have any doubts before signing up for a session, please contact me. I am always eager to hear from established parties who are looking for a new GM. Whether you have already been gaming together, or you are a group of friends, coworkers, or a family group, I would love to embark on an adventure with you. I am also open to requests from existing/ongoing groups for a specific campaign for your party. Whether you have a published module in mind or just an idea that you’d like to develop, I’m here to help you play the game you want to play! Remember, the essence of tabletop gaming is to have fun and create memorable stories together. Let’s roll the dice!

Character creation

Creating your character

We will be using the "iconic" Pathfinder characters for this level, in order to get straight into the action. You don't need to make any preparation for the game.

The current party

Third level party, using the iconic Pathfinder heroes.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

You will need a good quality headset or microphone, to prevent feedback and interference during play. A webcam is recommended but not required. Experience confirms that players who use webcams avoid a lot of miscommunication and misunderstandings. You will need to create a (free) Forge account to access the virtual table top. For communication during play we will be using Discord.

What George brings to the table

All material required for play will be available electronically through the Foundry Virtual Table Top, hosted on Forge. This includes character sheets, dice, player tokens, maps, and music. Remember that all of the Pathfinder 2nd Edition rules for players are available for free at the Archives of Nethys: https://2e.aonprd.com/ - make sure you are looking at 2nd Edition.

Safety

How George creates a safe table

Content warnings: addiction, gaslighting, missing persons. We will be using a Lines and Veils protocol at the start of the session to allow every participant input into what count of content we want to see in the game. Digital safety tools will be available through the virtual table top. All players have the right to feel welcome and included at the table. Any language or behaviour that makes other players feel uncomfortable or unable to participate will not be tolerated. This short adventure takes the form of an investigation, giving the players many opportunities to avoid direct conflict... until the inevitable, climactic, final encounter.
