About the adventure
This short-run campaign gives players the chance to enjoy a high-power, high fantasy adventure. Cunning fey! A mysterious maze! Jousting! Can you overcome the tower's traps and defenses? Will you seek to parley with the Lunar Knight and navigate the politics of his court, or will you challenge him and his servants to a contest of martial honor? This setting-neutral campaign is designed around an adventure from Kobold Press's excellent 12 Peculiar Towers. It will feature a mix of combat and exploration of the strange realm of the Ivory Tower, with opportunities for puzzle solving and roleplay to give the party an edge in the challenges to come. This campaign includes a session zero, providing an opportunity for players to meet, ask questions, and develop their characters. If you are seeking an opportunity to explore a high level build, try a character that just doesn't fit in your other campaigns, or allow a favorite PC to continue their adventures, this is the perfect opportunity!

About me
Hi there! Since my first homebrew D&D 5e campaign in 2015, I have loved every moment of being a game master. I live for the times where the game comes alive and both the players and I can’t wait to see what happens next. In addition to Dungeons and Dragons, I've also had a great time exploring new genres through systems like Monster of the Week and Avatar: Legends, and can’t wait to use even more games to share everything the hobby has to offer. My proudest moments as a DM have been guiding new players as they find their voice, watching them embrace the suspense and laughter of a game. The most fun moments for me are giving voice to NPCs that delight the table and finding ways to give players' actions weight and create ripples in the broader world that come back to drive the story. As a trans woman, I also love the potential of ttrpgs as an opportunity to explore identity! It was a wonderful way for me to test the waters before first sharing who I really am with the world. With the moderation of safety tools, it can be so much fun to explore a different side of yourself, whether you are just beginning to question or are settled and comfortable in your gender and who you are. Whether you are a seasoned veteran or just beginning to explore tabletop roleplaying games, I’m looking forward to our next adventure together!

Creating your character
Players will start with a 15th level character, which they'll have the opportunity to build during the campaign's session 0. Ability scores for your character will be 4d6 drop the lowest, assigned as you'd prefer. If you would like to use a pre-existing character, feel free to ask! If you aren't experienced in making higher level characters, that's alright and I'm happy to offer guidance. Each player will also roll for a common, uncommon, rare, very rare, and legendary magic item, and can trade with other party members as desired, and will otherwise be equipped with any mundane equipment of their choosing. Each player can reroll one magic item if desired. And, everyone starts with two potions of superior healing!
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Players will need to have a Discord account and Roll20 account. Once you are signed up I will send you invites to my discord server for voice chat and to the campaign on Roll20.
What Brooke - Wrathanet brings to the table
This campaign will feature mood-setting music, uniquely voiced characters, and a balance between engaging challenges and letting players enjoy the rule of cool and the power of a 15th-level character. Players are expected to have some familiarity with D&D 5e, but I want to work with each of my players to ensure they have a great experience and meet them where they are. We're all here to be fans of each other's characters and to enjoy the excitement of the game and story!

How Brooke - Wrathanet creates a safe table
As part of session zero, I will ensure all players have an opportunity to send me an RPG consent checklist confirming lines, veils, and acceptable topics. Additionally, I've included options on roll20 to allow players to quickly and easily indicate a range of points publicly or anonymously: Rewind to go back and discuss what has just happened Stop to end the current scene with no obligation of explaining why Play to continue the scene and confirm you are comfortable Pause to halt and discuss Fast Forward to wrap up a scene or zoom out Raised hand to indicate you don't want to interrupt the scene but want to join in when you can
