About the adventure

ALL MUST BOW is a system-agnostic setting of cosmic horror where you play the villains: servants of god-monsters beyond human comprehension we call Dreadful Ancient Things! Driven by visions inflicted by your master, Mu'ur Jesque - also known as OF PITILESS FUTURITY - you find yourselves on a decaying worldlet, depleted of valuable minerals and host to rival factions: a corporation, a cult, and a populist insurgency. To survive, you must contend with the inhospitable terrain, interpret the master's guidance correctly, navigate the unfamiliar technology and customs of this place - and of course destroy any foolish enough to oppose you. AMB draws on sci-fi and dark fantasy in equal measure, and the Fate Core system keeps the action moving with cinematic mechanics like compels and environmental Aspects. Points of reference: Pitch Black, Annihilation, Sunshine

About me

Interactive storytelling is the best! I've been playing in, running, writing, and/or broadcasting games for about 25 years now, and in that time I've learned a lot about what works, what doesn't, and what gets folks excited at the table. You've got knowledge, too, whoever you are. Let's share! A couple of my projects are out there. With Ryan Hatt, I co-wrote ALL MUST BOW, a system-agnostic cosmic horror setting where the PCs are villains. (More about that at bleakhorizonspress.com) I've also co-hosted a superhero RPG actual-play podcast, Tales from Stringersberg, with my buddy Drew (Ninetale Hobbies on YouTube), which you can find on Spotify and some other places. I have a few stories on deck, complete with pre-gens, but would love to hatch something new with a long-term group. Maybe that's you and your crew! One way to find out. I welcome folks of all kinds - might not know your terminology yet, but I'll learn. The only exceptions to that are oppressors: authoritarians, racists, homo- or trans-phobes, Nazis, sexists, etc. Bottom line: either we agree that we're all human beings & show mutual respect, or we don't share a table. Pretty simple, really.

How Josh Flaccavento creates a safe table

We'll discuss lines and veils at the table before play; I'm also happy to talk about them beforehand via direct message. This scenario includes survival and stealth elements, but is likely to include high-octane combat as well. You'll play powerful characters facing unknown threats. ALL MUST BOW is not for the faint of heart; individual human lives don't matter much in this setting. However, that doesn't mean we're here to do thrill-kill nonsense or torture-porn. "We do not wallow; we do not leer." Oh, and in case it need be said: Nazis, f--k off!
