About the adventure
Keep Austin weird. But try to keep it breathing. A street-level Dresden Files RPG campaign set in Texas, where you'll be battling vampire courts for the soul of the Lone Star State. 🔥 Campaign Details: System: The Dresden Files RPG (Savage Worlds Adventure Edition) Tone: Street-level grit, urban noir, high action Experience: Beginners welcome! Rules taught at the table. Platform: Discord (Voice) + Roll20 The Threat: A turf war has spilled into the streets, and it's the innocent who are paying the toll. The Red Court is pushing its cartel operations up from the border, turning local homeless shelters and smuggling routes into all-you-can-eat buffets for their bloodthirsty fledglings. Meanwhile, The White Court is working from the penthouse down, running high-end brothels and feeding on the lust and despair of the city's desperate, hiding behind trust funds, designer suits, and bought-off politicians. The Resistance: But you're not cattle. Whether you're a wizard slinging fire and force, a changeling running from the Winter Court, or a brave vanilla mortal with a clue and a shotgun full of rock-salt, you see the dread corrupting your world. The strictures of the Unseelie Accords are fraying, and in this town, every choice comes with a price tag. If you run, you die tired. If you hide, they play with their food. Or you can plant your feet, and fight to make the monsters pay in blood and ashes. What kind of hero will you be when the city bleeds?

About me
The name's Laurel. I've been a game master since 2018, and have been loving it ever since. I enjoy weaving stories with my players that would be right at home in your favorite novel. I run long term campaigns, and use modules and random encounters as brainstorming tools. In my games you will never face the same problem twice, and I always use player backstories in every adventure. My favorite games are sci-fi settings, with a smattering of horror. Examples include Deadlands: Hell on Earth, Shadowrun, and Cyberpunk.

Creating your character
🛠️ Character Creation & Mechanics We'll build our crew together during a dedicated Session Zero. You don't need to come with a finished character sheet—just a strong concept and a willingness to tie your backstory into the Austin underworld. The System: This campaign runs on Savage Worlds Adventure Edition (SWADE). To accurately capture the gritty thermodynamics of Dresden-style spellcasting and the terrifying reality of the Vampire Courts, my homebrew heavily integrates mechanics from the SWADE Horror Companion and the Furious Magic supplement. (Don't worry if you don't own these; I will provide all necessary materials and guide you through the custom rules!) Starting Power Level: Characters are built at Seasoned Rank. You are street-level investigators, minor talents, or hardened vanilla mortals. You are significantly more capable than an average citizen, but you are far from invincible. You have the skills to crack a jaw or sling a spell, but a shotgun blast or a vampire's claws will still put you in the ground. Character Concepts: I run a highly reactive, character-driven game, and I heavily encourage concepts that subvert traditional urban fantasy tropes. Bring your unconventional practitioners, gritty survivors, and flawed heroes who are ready to push back against the city's rot. Where We Build: We will handle the mechanical character creation and sheet management together using Roll20 while chatting over Discord.

We'll be using roll20.com for maps and rolls. We'll be using Discord for voice chat. Players should be at least familiar with discord.
