About the adventure
You play one of a band of heroic dwarfs setting out upon a quest to reclaim a legendary artifact of your people. You set your own course, traveling far and deep, battling horrifying foes to regain what was thought to be lost forever. Combat and roleplay heavy. Sandbox exploration guided by player choices. Suitable for players of all levels of experience, but especially those who have a fondness and affinity for playing a dwarf. Players will have access to unlocked career options from the Dwarf Players Guide. Dwarfs were once the mightiest people of the Old World. There was peace even with the elves before the War of the Ancients and the War of the Beards. It was a golden age of splendor, legendary prosperity, and cultural achievement for the farflung dwarf people. This is all a distant memory now. So much has been lost over the centuries to greenskin hordes, to the crafty skaven, and to distant memory itself. What remains serves only to mock dwarfs for all they have lost. Every dwarf who lives knows the grudges and hears the woeful tales of what has fallen. Romantic hopes of reclaiming lost vaults of mythical treasures and ancestral holds beat in the even the stoniest heart of any dwarf. Some set off on expeditions, a rare few press on and win trivial battles, recover a precious artifact, and glimpse what was and could be again. You are even more ambitious.

About me
My gaming journey started with D&D and TSR games in the early '80s, but I got away from the hobby after high school. After a Stage IV cancer fight 15 years ago, I returned to the RPG hobby with a vengeance. Life is good! I'm a Cambridge-educated American, happy husband, and proud father of an amusing and impressive teenage girl. Outside of gaming, I ran a successful non-profit theater company for 10 years and dabbled in amateur formula racing. What I love most about gaming is getting into a cycle of creative enthusiasm where players and I are feeding each other to create memorable experiences. While I secretly cheer for the players, I make sure to referee objectively so that the team can enjoy the wins it earns. Teaching new players or teaching experienced players new systems is something I've done a lot of since I came back to the hobby. It was easier for me to teach friends how to play games than find gamers. These days Shadowdark, OSR games, and Call of Cthulhu are the games that groove me most. With that said, I love, play, and run A LOT of games. Games have always been more about the people at the table than specific rule sets or mechanics to me. I can have a blast playing Parcheesi with people. Well, that's me. So, you up for it? Want to roll some dice and make some shit up together?

What SpitfireDave brings to the table
You are promised a few hours of high quality gaming entertainment in the forms of challenging situations and combats punctuated with delightful roleplay interactions. This game will be a delight in deep delving exploration. While there's a specific end goal, this will very much be a sandbox where player choices dictate our journey. We are going to follow the rules as written, but not get dragged into rules analysis and conversation. Foundry will help us through a lot of the crunch. As a long time WFRP vet, I am here to coach you through any rules questions and we will make having fun top priority.
