About the adventure
This game will take place in a fantastical world of Dungeon Crawl Classic, with a custom setting organized to allow truly open ended adventures with the surrounding Kingdoms and Duchies with a fleshed out nobility, warriors, knights, wizards, alchemists (Alchemy pending) and priests. You will begin with investigating your lost family members who are stuck in the Lord and Merchant Morto Blango's manse as regular civilians exposed to monstrous danger for the first times in their lives! Afterwards your characters decide the adventuring life is for them or they will be dead and a new set of adventurers will be there ready to look into this terrible thing that occurred that laid low a village! I aim to overcome all limitations of any game system I run to make for the perfectly crafted experience. If there is something a player want or want to explore, I can certainly give a way to do it (ability to do so may not be so easily gained). While things like resurrection for example may be rare, they aren't impossible to come across, on the flip side if a player wishes to become a deity they must mind the roof they need to smash through. Additionally keep in mind that Dungeon Crawl Classics is an OSR meaning that it tends towards harsher game mechanics and penalties for failure.

About me
I have been playing tabletop games since highschool and haven't really stopped since! I love the amazing stories told within the complex and simple player actions the unwinding tales of clarity of intention in action along with the deep narrative hooks that draw everyone deeper. I am a reader and writer at heart and I want to know every possible story there is from the cliche given a new form or setting, or the novel pulled from the nothing, and all variations in-between. I want to hear and see it and I want that journey others. I will often refer to rules for wanting to do things, but am willing to improvise!

Creating your character
For character creation I will require players to create 4 level 0 characters randomly. We will do this all in session zero and there is a website that significantly speeds up the process called Purple sorcerer games. The intention is to run a level 0 funnel and one of each player's level 1 characters will be the character they play later at level 1 and onwards. The other character will either be back up characters or otherwise
What to expect
Preparing for the session
I will send an invite to my discord and then my VTT server! If you don't know the rules of Dungeon Crawl Classics then let me know so I can make time to give you a run down or guide you to resources to learn!
What Scholar brings to the table
I will provide with smooth combat scenarios and intense tactical combat. I will default to rules when unsure but I will also allow, when communicated (No seriously tell me) cool things and maneuvers if they fit the player character with what the player is going for. The world will be open after the initial adventure and I hope players will enjoy as much of the continent as they can explore.
Homebrew rules
There are some optional rules that I will be using they don't particularly change much of the regular game and just make the game a bit more loose what exactly a player character can get for abilities. Additionally I may give options from the sister game systems (XCC and MCC) for one reason or another during play.

How Scholar creates a safe table
I will ask before and during session 0 for players Lines and Veils before session 1 so that I may understand where the players stand in the face of harrowing subject matters. If there happens to be a discrepancy about what a player may not wish too see in a game at all (a line) that I have specifically planned for the campaign I may have to have a deeper conversation. After particularly harrowing session I will ask how everyone is feeling about the game, so far, and specifically that session. If a player direct messages me that they need to stop or need to shift focus, I am completely amenable to such things, but that is also why I ask players either tell me beforehand so that I can avoid the issue entirely.
