About the adventure

You'll find yourselves in Dynastes, a region that has just recently settled a war, one that affected every single person on the whole continent. After all, it is also the place of the Anime Rus Tower, a giant tower that goes up and up into the sky, without an apparent end. A megadungeon that is concurred by hundreds of adventurers. It is said that at its top, the final floor, lies the power that is beyond the gods, one to shape the world. Although, in the present, people are far from getting there. That should paint the picture, the rest is for you to discover. Where might you go? Paths will not be set in stone and the directions may be confusing. You have to decide where your adventure is. Will you accompany and defend the folks who lost their homes on their journey to Russeto? Will you seek for the most wanted person in the region, Liberius? Will you partake in the mission to conquer the tower? These are only examples of the paths that may open to you, but you'll find more. It is a matter of looking.

About me

Hi, I'm Yul, though the list of nicknames that I have is far from being short. So, after we meet, you can call me as you see fit. I'm a writer, I've been putting words together in a very passionate way since I've got memory. It is for that reason that I love telling stories. Showing my work to others is an intrinsic part of it. This is because, in the process of interpretation, new worlds begin to appear, worlds that I was incapable of seeing for myself. A story can grow far bigger as each one gives it their twist, as it becomes a part of them in a sort of way. I've been playing TTRPGs and GMing for the best part of 5 years. Since I started, my objective has been to create collaborative stories that, though chaotic at times (sometimes all the time), can be a part of us. I work a lot in the worlds I create for my campaigns, be it places, like a city or a cave, or NPC. They may not generate the expected impression, but, for me, stories go like that. They change with everyone's input, especially when roleplaying, and that's lovely. I want my players to feel like they are an active part of the story we are creating.

Character creation

Creating your character

Session 0 will be our time to get our ideas together. You may already have a character, or not. In any case, I'll introduce you to what you may know about the world you are settled in, giving extra information for characters that may need it. Also, this will be the time for beginners to get used to the character options and probably a basic grasp of the rules if you may not have read them. I usually go bit by bit during games when different rules appear, so you spend less time checking rules and more time enjoying yourselves. For those who are used to the rules, or even advanced players, most Common and Uncommon options will be available, and even some rare options (mainly ancestries). We'll also be playing with the Free Archetype variant rule (if you know, you know). The rest will be standard practice.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

For starters, Discord will be needed, as you'll join together in a voice call in a discord server to communicate. In the other part, we'll be using Foundry as our Virtual Tabletop. You don't need to sign in or make an account, I'll just post a link so you can join.

What Elise brings to the table

They may be roleplay heavy sessions, as you get to a new place, you get to meet new people and get a view of the possible goals you may want to achieve. I focus on the whole table having fun, so if the table is more of a combat freak kind of style, I'll make roleplay less present though not less relevant. I'm heavily keen on the idea of ambient music. I've always got a track going in the background, be it subtly or as a main course. Also, some maps may have sound effects, like drops of water echoing through a cave or the sound of crows surrounding a cemetery. Combat may be really challenging at times, rewarding tactical decisions and trying to get the players to take full advantage of their character options. In addition, I think that part of character development is failing and although I'm not going to try and make them fail, I'll give them a fight they can feel accomplished of winning.

Safety

How Elise creates a safe table

The discord server that I'll create for the campaign will include a link to a Lines and Veils document. There, each player has to take their time making clear what their not comfortable with. In session 0, this will be reiterated so that the players can make sure all things that should be present in the document regarding their preferences are present.
