About the adventure

Attend a school of magic set inside the magical jungle of the Mwangi Expanse! Arrive as a fresh student to be taught magic and grow to be a storied teacher. Teachers of the Magaayamba are respected worldwide and it is the center of wizardry as it is known. Meet fellow students, explore ancient ruins, lead expeditions to places known and unknown. Uncover a deadly secret in this 1-20 campaign. This campaign is welcome to new and experienced players alike, with a heavy emphasis on roleplay. Learning magic is as dangerous as it is fascinating! There are several branches to choose from that each excel at a different skill. A unique subsystem for teaching. This adventure path is heavy on roleplaying and combat is dangerous, occasionally deadly. We will work together on a character reason to be attending school, or you can choose from a list! This system benefits heavily from those who like to see how characters grow and change over the course of years.

About me

My name is Joseph, I have been running games since 2013! I have experience with PF1e, PF2e, DnD 5e, FATE, and Dungeon World. TTRPG's are a way for people to come together and collaboratively tell a story. I have lots of time on my hands and this is an expensive hobby. Money earned goes towards fancy coffee and tabletop products!

Character creation

Creating your character

Character creation will happen either at session 0 or with a 1 on 1 meeting with the DM afterword (in case of time constraints). Anything tagged with "Uncommon" or higher rarity needs to be verified with me. I suggest using pathbuilder2e.com or using foundry itself to make a character.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Players will need to: Create an account on forge-vtt.com, have access to a microphone and a quiet location, have discord downloaded or pulled up on a browser, and read the section on rules here https://2e.aonprd.com/Rules.aspx?ID=2263 or be familiar with the rules already! Character creation will happen at session 0 or shortly after.

What Joseph "JoRunsGames" S. brings to the table

Character creation will happen at session zero! Coming to the table with a character concept is awesome, but not necessary. Together, we will find a reason for your character to be involved in the party and plot. I will be providing official art, maps, and tokens. I have the foundry license and server needed to play. I have run this module before and have edited it to have a more cohesive story. Combat is fast paced, ideally everyone takes 6-10 seconds for their turn unless there is a rules question (Once everyone gets used to their characters). Some creatures will act mindlessly whereas thinking beings may flank, use traps, take hostages. I encourage players to talk largely in character to keep roleplay between characters flowing. I personally love doing voices for characters and I think it brings life to a game. Players are encouraged but not required to do a voice for their character!

Homebrew rules

You can sheathe or pick up a set of weapons (Sword and shield) as one action. Gold weighs nothing I don't track bulk unless you make me track Bulk.

Safety

How Joseph "JoRunsGames" S. creates a safe table

Our session 0 will go over group rules and expectations. We will have a brief combat session at the end of the session 0 to ensure that you have an idea of what your character and the system does. I have a zero-tolerance policy when it comes to: Sexism, Racism, Transphobia, Homophobia, and any rules the group comes up with.
