About the adventure
Throughout human history, tales of heroes both great and small are passed down from generation to generation. Unfortunately, not all heroic deeds and sacrifices were written down or survived the many wars that ripped through the ancient world. This is one of those tales. Our story will begin approximately 800ce on the eastern shores of Scandanavia, in a small port village called Husavik. It is there that our four vikings will gather together to join the spring raids to the Western Lands. But like all good stories, they will begin a journey far grander then they could have ever dreamed. Sail the oceans of Yggdrasil, convene with Gods and Jotun, battle mythical foes throughout Norse Mythology, gather forgotten magics, and confront the all powerful Jotun Al'Yorn in a final confrontation to determine the fate of the known universe. Time is not on your side, so be clever and quick, for Ragnarok is coming! This is a Play by Post short epic guaranteed not to last forever. We have a story to tell and time is running short. We will be playing over Discord. Anticipate between 2-10 posts a day depending on reply times and overall participation of the group. We will also be running pre-made characters to get to the action quicker. Each one has an in-depth backstory and personal tragedy moving them forwards and holding them back. Both for RP and combat mechanics. Due to the Vikings being humans from Midgard, there are no spell casters. However, the group will have plenty of opprotunities to find homebrew magical items that will greatly bolster them in combat. After all, what can mortals do against a Jotun that even the Gods are wary of. As a warning: This campaign will have dark subject matter consisting of deeply personal tragedies that deal with subjects like familial loss, PTSD, family negligence, and betrayal. We will be playing with safety tools in mind. So, if this sounds remotely interesting, the Jarl of Husavik has an open spot on the raiding ships just for you.

About me
Well met Adventurers! ✨ Hello everyone! My name is Noodle, and I am your humble Dungeon Master for hire! I have over 25 years of experience leading countless adventurers into dark endless dungeons, navigating political intrigue, solving noir style mysteries, surviving realms of nightmares, and being whisked away into worlds of imagination and wonder. 🎬 Storytelling has been in my life from an incredibly young age. Books and movies were consumed in mass. Video games, with their rich and deep storylines, filled my mind and fueled my creativity. I would endlessly write short stories and comic book adventures. That is, until I played D&D. Immediately, the role of Dungeon Master called to me. The rules of the game are fine and dandy, but what really drew me in was the storytelling. With a whisper and a word, worlds spawned from the corners of my mind. NPC’s come to life and become your greatest companions or your worst villains. A blank room becomes a grand ballroom filled with secrets and espionage. The world is a stage, and all I need is the actors. 📜 My greatest joy is creating a world where players, like YOU, can jump right in and play out your characters greatest adventures. Craft the character of your dreams with goals and flaws and fulfill their story arcs while on a daring high stakes adventure. Find love, fight villains, save innocence, seek riches, and right the wrongs that I have laid out before you. Unite with fellow players, bond over hardships and tragedies, and celebrate the good times, the simple times, and the times we share together. 🌈 As your Narrator, I bring a genuine love for collaborative storytelling and world building. It doesn’t matter if you are an experienced player or if you are trying roleplaying games for the first time, I craft each session to make sure that everyone is included and has a chance to enjoy the limelight. All people are welcome and included in this safe place where you can explore and have fun! ⚔️ So pack your bags, grab your dice, and bring a pal! The call to adventure is ringing true in the deeps. Do you have what it takes to change the world and join in on the adventure of a lifetime? Let’s find out, together!

Creating your character
The group will have a choice of premade characters avaliable to them. Each character is statistically level 3, but as the group find magic items their combat and survivability will be bolstered significantly. Please choose 2 characers you would like to play as, and we will choose together as a group before game begins. So, lets meet our cast: Erik Sigmundson, Trickster: Erik is the first born son of Jarl Sigmund Falivson, however he is the least favorite child. Out shined by his younger brother Jorik, Erik knows he will not be chosen as the next Jarl. With his birthright stolen from him, he seeks to gain the approval of his father. Hilda, Shieldmaiden: A well respected veteran of many raids, Hilda is retired after the ghosts of her fallen friends haunt her waking dreams. With no choice but to go on the raid, she hopes to break her curse and return home to her loving husband. Inga, True Believer: A former True Believer, raised in the ways of the Gods, is now exiled from The Temple after learning about the rampant corruption and sin. She joins the raids to try and gain favor with the King in the hopes of rooting out the evil spreading throughout her former home. She will not rest until the corrupt lay bloodied before the Gods. Ulf, Berserker: Banished from Husavik for the drunken murder of his wife, Ulf now lives a guilt wrecked life on the edge of the world. Every year he joins the raids in the hope that his suffering will earn his redemption. This time his goal is no different but he is no longer that same young man. His aging body is failing him, but maybe this time he will find forgiveness on those harrowing battlefields.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
We will be playing on Discord and a link will be provided to you once you accept the game. You will also have access to the character sheets so you will need to be able to read PDF's somewhat reasonably. A phone may be hard to see all the text.
What Noodle brings to the table
I'll provide the Character Sheets and the story. I embrace heavy roleplaying and there will be plenty of it here. Although the characters come with a backstory, they will be yours to shape as you interperate their past. Their decisions will be yours and yous alone to make. We will be dealing with historic events, and real religious figures so a bit of respect for the subject matter is requested. I also will being a ton of information if you need it (especially those who are interested in Norse Mythology but may not know very much). This game is very much designed for both knowledgable veterans and absolute beginners alike.
Homebrew rules
All the magic items will have a homebrew rules to them to allow you to use them in combat and untrained. The group should not fear death too much as we will be playing with unique death rules. But, I don't want to give too much away.

How Noodle creates a safe table
There will be a short survey in the beginning to fill out, and I will be doing check up's with the players to make sure everything is ok. PbP is a little different but my direct messages are always open. There is no judgement here.
