About the adventure

The city of Parish used to be a thriving hub for trade and travel. That all changed when the magical barrier surrounding the nearby Necropolis began to weaken. Little by little, the undead trickled into the city, attacking the inhabitants. Some were killed, some fled, few remained. Those who chose to stay, have done so for many reasons, but they all know they can't live with the undead constantly wandering the area. The city's leader has gotten the support of the people to empty the government coffers to hire a group to solve this issue permanently. This will be a difficult path to forge, and some will almost certainly perish, but those who achieve victory will be rewarded with riches and land. There are no homebrew mechanics, but players should expect to fight against undead enemies.

Character creation

Creating your character

Character creation can be done during session zero or beforehand. I also have a stock of premade characters to choose from. Ability scores will be determined by a 30 point buy, with the minimum score for any ability before racial modifiers are applied being 6 and the maximum being 18. Starting level will be 3. Any published material is accepted, so long as it was printed before 2024. If you would like a premade character, please let me know before session zero begins. Players may also begin play with one common magic item of their choice and two common potions of their choice.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Players will need: A Discord account (free) Access to Owlbear Rodeo (free) A way to roll 7pc dice (digital dice are fine) A character sheet (provided) Familiarity with 5e DnD rules (I give free help if needed)

Safety

How Khaz creates a safe table

In session zero, I send everyone a consent form to let me know what their preferences/needs are. Ground rules for conduct are laid down in session zero. They will be enforced throughout the campaign. Any issues you have with anyone (including myself) can be handled quickly via Discord's direct messaging system. After each session, I like to gather feedback from everyone and help bring the emotional level down through light-hearted conversation, but nobody is obligated to participate in that portion.
