About the adventure

When the sun disappeared, the world did not end—it changed. Crops withered, cities sealed their gates, and the creatures of darkness—once whispers and legends—now walk openly beneath a dim, dying sky. What began as fear has turned into desperation. Trade has collapsed. Refugees flee along dangerous roads. And in the distance, something vast and terrible seems to watch from the darkness where the sun once shone. You are not legendary heroes—not yet. You begin as ordinary people thrust into extraordinary circumstances: guards, scouts, apprentices, wanderers. But when the night refuses to end, even the smallest light matters. From defending a caravan against creatures of shadow, to uncovering why the darkness itself seems to be spreading, your actions will shape whether the world adapts… or falls. This campaign is a heroic, cinematic dark fantasy adventure focused on rising against overwhelming odds. Expect tense journeys through monster-infested lands, desperate defenses of flickering safe havens, and moments where courage—not power—makes the difference. You’ll face creatures like undead, shadow beasts, fiends, and other horrors that thrive without the sun, while slowly uncovering a greater mystery: the sun was not destroyed… it was taken. This game is ideal for players who enjoy: -Becoming heroes from humble beginnings -A strong narrative with escalating stakes -Dark, immersive worlds where choices matter -Tactical combat mixed with exploration and mystery If you like stories where a small group stands against the end of the world—and refuses to let the light die—then this adventure is for you!

About me

I am a real life Wizard 🧙‍♂️ (or, at least, I'd love to be..! ). I have been DMing for over 25 years(since highschool!) , and I still love it. Player Characters are the stars, I just guide them along an epic adventure. I enjoy reading, practicing and studying to hone my DMing skills. (Other hobbies: I also enjoy playing with my toddler daughters, training Brazilian jiu jitsu and I enjoy videogames)

What Naimed the Wizard 🧙‍♂️ brings to the table

What I Provide as Your GM You can expect a cinematic, high-energy experience where your characters grow from ordinary survivors into true heroes of a world on the brink. I focus heavily on immersion, tension, and meaningful choices, making sure every session feels like a chapter in an epic story rather than a series of disconnected encounters. I run games with a strong emphasis on atmosphere. I use ambient music and soundscapes such as dark fantasy, eerie exploration, and intense combat tracks to reinforce the tone of a world trapped in endless twilight. I also enjoy doing distinct character voices and personalities, not as full voice acting, but enough to make NPCs memorable and bring scenes to life. Combat in my games is tactical, fast-paced, and dangerous, but never slow or bogged down. I like encounters that feel like scenes from a movie: defending a barricade while monsters climb over it, escaping through collapsing ruins, or holding the line while civilians flee. Expect a mix of positioning, teamwork, and creative problem-solving rather than just trading hits. In terms of rules, I aim for a balanced approach. I respect the system and keep things consistent, but I also embrace the Rule of Cool when it enhances the story or creates a memorable moment. If something awesome makes sense in the fiction, I will usually find a way to make it work. Most importantly, I prioritize player agency and spotlight. Your choices matter, your backstories can shape the world, and your characters will have real opportunities to become legends. Whether you want to be strategic, dramatic, heroic, or clever, this game will give you space to shine. If you enjoy immersive storytelling, cinematic combat, and rising against impossible odds, you will feel right at home at this table.

How Naimed the Wizard 🧙‍♂️ creates a safe table

How I Keep Players Safe and Comfortable Creating a safe and respectful table is a priority. This is a dark fantasy campaign, so we will be dealing with intense themes, but never at the expense of player comfort. The goal is for everyone to feel engaged, respected, and in control of their experience. In Session 0, we will cover tone, themes, boundaries, and table expectations, along with my Lines and Veils. We will talk about the kind of story we want to tell together, what level of darkness is appropriate, and what should be avoided. This is also where we align on playstyle, communication norms, and make sure everyone feels comfortable with the direction of the campaign. During play, I use a simple and effective check-in system based on X, N, and O X means stop or change the scene immediately N means the content is approaching a limit and should shift direction O means everything is good These can be communicated in whatever way is most comfortable for the group, whether that is typing in chat, sending a private message, or signaling on video. No explanation is ever required in the moment. If something is flagged, I will adjust immediately and move the scene forward safely. I also pay attention to tone and reactions throughout the session. If something feels off, I may pause briefly to check in with the group. After sessions, I like to do a short debrief where players can share what they enjoyed, what felt intense, and anything they would like adjusted going forward. This helps keep the experience aligned with everyone’s comfort over time. The table is a collaborative space built on trust. Everyone is expected to respect each other’s boundaries, and we will always prioritize people over the game.
