About the adventure
The Imperium of Man is waging the Achillus Crusade across the stars to drive back alien forces. The Feral world of Aurum possesses vital resources, but its fierce warrior people are unimpressed by imperial missionaries. Only one group is mighty enough to impress these warriors and win their allegiance: the Space Marines of the Deathwatch. But strange forces are conspiring against them, and the Space Marines will need both firepower and cunning to succeed. Do you have what it takes to be one of the Emperor's angels of death? Do you Know No Fear? The Emperor Protects is a set of three adventures for Deathwatch, a game where players play Space Marines in the Warhammer 40K universe. Players will start with 1,000 extra XP.

About me
Hello, I'm Caestus. I've been playing roleplaying games ever since I was old enough to do so. I've played or run 100 different rpgs. I'm a big fan of science fiction and fantasy. I've been running games for friends and family for years. While I feel that telling a good story is a key part of being a good gamemaster, more important than the story is making sure all the players at the table have a good time; I consider that the chief duty of any gamemaster. I run a wide variety of games here and I hope you enjoy playing RPGs with me.

Creating your character
Players should create a standard Deathwatch character according to the rules in the Core book. Options from later books are available. We will be using the available errata. After character creation, players may add 1,000 additional XP to their Space Marines. I am available by message or voicechat to assist. There will be a free session 0 to help flesh out character concepts.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Players will need roll20 and discord accounts. They will need a mic, but not a camera. Players will need a copy of the Deathwatch core book. Some familiarity with the world of Warhammer 40K could be helpful but isn't necessary.
What Caestus brings to the table
I'll bring an understanding of the rules and a roll20 packed with maps, enemies, music and even sound effects. It will enable effective tactical combat, which will be a major focus, along with trying to convey the feel of the Warhammer 40K universe.
Homebrew rules
When using the reroll for one starting characteristic Space Marines are entitled to, you may keep the higher roll of the two.
