About the adventure
The Miskatonic University expedition to Antarctica ended badly. The details remain classified, the survivors refuse to speak about it, and the University's insurance premiums have never fully recovered. Starkweather and Moore have decided to go back. You’re in New York, during the summer of 1933, to meet your fellow expedition members over cocktails and optimism... Antarctica will change that! What waits for you over the mountains is ancient, cosmic, and entirely indifferent to you. If you're lucky, it will slowly sap your sanity. This is tale of frostbite, isolation, escalating dread, and the gradual realisation that some questions were left unanswered for very good reasons. An epic slow-burn campaign where enthusiastic roleplay is appreciated, but your life expectancy won’t be discussed. Set in the shadow of Lovecraft's ‘At the Mountains of Madness’, this story doesn't require you to have read it, in fact, it may be worse if you have. Join us and find out what is beyond those mountains. [Game Sessions will be on even weeks, ie 13th June & 27th June]

About me
Hey there, I'm Japes (jay-ps), your Game Master and the person responsible for bringing the game together. I've been running games for long enough to know that the best moments are never the ones you plan. They're the critical fumble at the worst possible time, the ridiculous idea that somehow works, the NPC everyone decides to adopt. I'm here for all of it. The games are work best around the choices you make and reacts to them. You’ll find no two sessions are ever quite the same. I love roleplay, both between players and the GM, it makes the game feel alive. There will always be a lurking dry sense of humour, whichh brings prenty of laughs. At the heart of it, I feel it's the escapism of these fantasy adventures that we're all here for and I enjoy being it all together and make your adventure the centre of it. Something else that is I find very rewarding is guiding a new player until they find their feet and surprise themselves as what they can do. I make every table a safe, creative space and part of that is for us all to be courteous to everyone at the table. Whether you're playing a 1920s FBI agent hunting Cthulhu Mythos monsters, a piece of Sapient Pearwood in Discworld, or a Fairy Barbarian growling at enemies as you fly over the wizard's head in D&D. Its great to see you, play them like you mean them. I can't wait to see what you come up with.

Creating your character
Advice on useful skills for your character to have and what they may already know. Occupations that would be a good fit are Explorers, Scientists. Doctor, Aircraft Pilot. We’ll be pulping it up with double HP, wounds won’t be as critical and an additional 60 points on either Polar Explorer or Mountaineering and 40 points for a couple of additional languages. Dhole's House (https://www.dholeshouse.org) 1920’s points buy wizard which can then be imported. Please write your own backstory, that includes your family and a friend. Original character art, in the style of the 1930s era.
