About the adventure
Welcome to the Keystone Crucible, the world’s premier academy for licensed heroes - where reputation matters as much as results, and “doing good” is rarely simple. As a newly minted graduate, you’ve earned your mark. Now you and your fellow adventurers are deployed to fractured frontiers, struggling villages, and war-torn regions where missions go sideways, alliances shift, and the mettle by which you were made is put to the ultimate test. You’ll take on dangerous assignments - hunting monsters, investigating disappearances, negotiating with hostile factions - while dealing with rival operatives from an ancient, villainous organization known as the Order of Eternal Nightfall that plays by its own ruthless rules. Success isn’t just about winning fights; it’s about choices, consequences, and how your actions are remembered… or rewritten. This campaign is for players who enjoy roleplay, meaningful decisions, and a world that reacts to them. Combat is present and impactful, but the heart of the game lies in how you approach problems, interact with factions, and define your character’s values. If you like the idea of being a “hero” in a world that doesn’t make that easy—or even clearly defined—this game is for you.

Creating your character
Characters will be created before Session 1 using FoundryVTT. You can build any character using the official Daggerheart Core Rulebook, with no additional homebrew or third-party content. All characters will begin at Tier 1, using the standard rules for attributes, experiences, and starting gear as outlined in the core book. If you’re new to Daggerheart or want help refining your character, I’m happy to jump on a quick one-on-one call to walk through the process or help tie your character into the world. I recommend coming to Session 1 with at least a rough concept ready (class, vibe, and background idea), even if the mechanics aren’t fully complete.

What Primal brings to the table
This game will be run on a hosted FoundryVTT server with Discord for voice and immersive ambient music to help bring the world to life. My GM style leans heavily into cinematic storytelling and player-driven moments. I enjoy giving characters room to shine, make meaningful choices, and shape the direction of the story. Roleplay & Voices: I use character voices and distinct NPC personalities where it adds to the experience, but the focus is always on immersion over performance Combat: Encounters are dynamic and engaging, with a mix of tactical decisions and narrative flair rather than strict grid optimization Rule of Cool: If something is creative, thematic, and fun, I’ll usually lean in that direction, while still respecting the core rules of the system Pacing: Sessions aim for a balance of roleplay, exploration, and action without getting bogged down in mechanics Overall, expect a game that feels collaborative, story-forward, and cinematic, where your choices matter and your characters are central to the narrative.

How Primal creates a safe table
Creating a safe and respectful table is important to me. I want everyone to feel comfortable engaging with the game and enjoying the story we build together. Session 0 Guidelines: In the Discord server, there is a dedicated Session 0 channel that outlines expectations, including hard pass (Lines) and soft pass (Veils) topics. Players are encouraged to review and privately message me if they want to add anything or clarify boundaries. Ongoing Communication: If anything comes up during play that makes you uncomfortable, you can message me directly at any time. We can pause, adjust, or redirect the scene without needing to explain in detail. In-Game Safety Tools: We’ll use a simple, low-pressure system (similar to X/N/O): Respect at the Table: Everyone is expected to respect each other’s boundaries. This includes avoiding sensitive topics that have been marked as off-limits and being mindful of tone during play.
