About the adventure
A fortune lies hidden somewhere beneath Waterdeep, and every power in the city wants it. Masked nobles whisper behind velvet curtains. Criminal guilds stalk the alleys. Watchful spirits haunt old rooms. Somewhere in the middle of it all, your party inherits a strange tavern with a dangerous secret — and finds the first clue to a treasure that could change the city forever. This is a cinematic Daggerheart campaign inspired by Waterdeep: Dragon Heist, rebuilt for dramatic character choices, faction intrigue, urban mystery, and fast-moving fantasy adventure. No Daggerheart experience is required. We will learn through play, with guided character creation and a Session 0 to establish characters, tone, safety tools, and party connections. Expect: Urban mystery and investigation Heists, secrets, and dangerous bargains Tavern ownership and colorful NPCs Faction politics and moral choices Dramatic combat when blades finally come out Character backstories woven into the city This game is best for players who enjoy roleplay, mystery, social encounters, clever problem-solving, and cinematic fantasy danger. Your choices will decide who becomes an ally, who becomes an enemy, and who deserves the gold when the vault is finally found.

About me
I’ve been GMing for about six years, mostly online, and I love running story-first games. I spend a lot of time with Star Trek Adventures and Vampire: the Masquerade (5e), and my focus is always on character, tone, and choices that actually matter. My style is roleplay-forward but flexible. I enjoy creating memorable NPCs, giving them distinct voices and personalities, and building longer story arcs that grow over time. I like to keep things immersive, but there’s always room for humor and table banter—this is still a game, after all. I’m especially comfortable running games for new players. I enjoy helping people learn the system, find their footing, and ease into roleplay at their own pace, without pressure to “perform” or already know everything. Players often mention the NPCs, voices, and visual details as standout parts of my games. I put a lot of care into making the world feel alive and giving everyone the tools to engage confidently.

Creating your character
You have two easy options for creating your character. I like to support players and give them flexibility. You're free to create your character in Demiplane, (an online character creator that works with roll20) or you can create a character with me in a short session, one-on-one, or through Discord chat. We can build your character together using Demiplane. I’ll walk you through the process step-by-step so you can learn how the system works. This is a great option if you want to customize your character. A quick start option is also available-- Choose a ready-to-play character. If you’d rather jump straight into the adventure, I’ll provide several pre-made characters connected to the story in Waterdeep. You can simply pick one and start playing or edit it however you wish. No rulebooks are required. I’ll explain the rules during play, so new players can focus on enjoying the adventure.
The party has finished an intro adventure and we're at the perfect point for more players to join. The party has just earned a 3-story tavern as payment for rescuing a kidnapping victim. You can drop by the tavern and be pulled into the multiple heists that will ensue! We currently have a party of 3: A Drow Rogue A Changeling Witch A Giant Guardian All classes, species and backgrounds are welcome! Have a favorite D&D combo? I can help translate that to Daggerheart.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
🧰 Preparing for the Game Everything we use for the game is free and easy to set up. 1️⃣ Create a free Roll20 account Roll20 will be used for maps, tokens, and visual play spaces. 2️⃣ Create a free Demiplane account Demiplane is where we’ll create and manage Daggerheart characters. 3️⃣ Join the Discord server We’ll use Discord for voice chat and between-session communication. I’ll send an invite after you join the game. 4️⃣ Check your audio setup Please have a working microphone and stable internet connection so everyone can hear each other clearly. You do not need to read the rules beforehand—I’ll guide everyone through the system during play.
What Eric brings to the table
My goal is to create a welcoming table where players can relax, learn the system, and enjoy a great story together. You can expect an immersive experience with background music and ambient sound to help bring scenes to life—from the lively chaos of taverns to the shadowy streets of Waterdeep. The game will use Roll20 maps and tokens so everyone can easily follow the action during exploration, chases, and combat. My GM style focuses on collaborative storytelling. I enjoy descriptive narration, cinematic moments, and encouraging creative solutions from players. Rules help guide the game, but clever ideas and dramatic moments are always welcome. Daggerheart’s flexible system makes it perfect for bold plans and exciting storytelling. You may also hear the occasional NPC voice or accent during roleplay—sometimes serious, sometimes a little humorous. I’m not a professional voice actor, but I enjoy bringing the world and its characters to life. Most importantly, I aim to create a friendly, cooperative table where everyone feels comfortable learning the game and contributing to the story.

How Eric creates a safe table
Creating a safe and respectful table is a priority. Before the game begins, we’ll use Demiplane’s built-in safety tool to quickly and anonymously indicate any topics or situations players would prefer to avoid. This helps establish our Lines and Veils so everyone’s boundaries are respected from the start. During play we will also use an X-Card safety tool. If something in the game becomes uncomfortable, any player can simply signal the X-Card. When that happens: • We immediately stop the scene • Take a short break • Return and continue with a different scene or direction No explanation is required. Players never need to justify using the tool. If someone does want to talk about it privately, I’m always available to listen—but that conversation is completely optional. The goal is to ensure everyone feels safe, respected, and able to enjoy the game, so we can focus on telling a great story together.
