About the adventure

Welcome to the world of Cyberpunk in the era of Red. This takes place in the year of 2045. The "Red" comes in due to the skies being a bright red from the pocket nuke detonation in Arasaka HQ sometime in the year 2023 by known Rockerboy, and Terrorist, Johnny Silverhand. Here in the Red, a crippled Nightcity stands proudly amidst the radioactive rain. Gang wars, corporate conniving, and humble beginnings are found all throughout the city. Out here there are two objectives that everyone follows: Survive or Die Gloriously. Which path will you walk? Walking through a safe comfortable life or running close to the edge looking to make a name in this world?

About me

Hello World! I'm Bryce, and I've been a GM since 2017, although, I have been playing ttrpgs since 2012. I tend to bounce around multiple systems towards whatever sounds fun. I consider role-play and having fun to be the most important foundations to a good game. At the end of the day, if we've made a fun experience together then it's a win in my eyes. Hope to see you around the table! Additionally if you like my games and have a system you'd like to try out feel free to message a suggestion. I love the challenge!

Character creation

Creating your character

Our session 0 (Free) will go over character creation among other topics. You character will be starting out as a rank 4 edgerunner of some variety that you choose. (rank 4 is essentially a level 1 starter for cyberpunk)

What to expect

Preparing for the session

A discord account and a roll20 account (not required if using the companion app listed next). For added ease of use and character sheet tracking I personally recommend the Cyberpunk RED companion app for mobile as it has a solid character creator and tracker. (You do not need to pay for the full edition to get full use out of it!) Otherwise, I would *suggest* giving the Cyberpunk Red core rulebook a read through but it is not necessary as I will walk you through mechanics and answer questions (Rulebook pdf will be distributed in the discord server)

What Bryce brings to the table

I provide a lot of character voices (I'm a voice actor primarily outside of GM-ing). This also means I am much more into running Roleplay heavy games that are interspersed with combat if it benefits the story. I love Rule of Cool and fully support nixing rules in support of having more fun at the table!

Homebrew rules

I have a mechanic that I run in all my games called MVP! (Other names my players have called it in the past would be like The Spotlight or Biggest B-tch) At the end of every session, after XP is dealt out, I make a poll for all the players to vote on whom they thought was the star of the session. To the victor, are the spoils, which in this case is knowledge! Whomever wins the vote gets to ask me 2 questions about anything involving the game, and I must answer honestly. If I think the answer is too revealing I must still answer honestly, but I may be cryptic in my response.

Safety

How Bryce creates a safe table

Session 0 Is for people to go over character creation, any topics/triggers they want to avoid and generally get a feel for their characters. As for breaks I usually try to aim for somewhere in the middle of the session or at least somewhere where a good stopping point might arise in story beats where we can pause for bio breaks or snacks/drinks Lastly for aftercare, I find it's good practice to check in with my players and see how everyone is feeling and generally go over what they might want more or less of for future games
