About the adventure

The sun of Araw Vi is dying. You are the first astronauts through a wormhole in search of a new home for humanity, but your body unravels during the journey and you choose a new form while carrying your memories and mission across the stars. Navigate a galaxy of alien technology, space pirates, conquering empires, and Filipino folklore as you try to return home. What to Expect: 🚀 Find a new home for humanity before your sun dies 🌀 Choose a new body. Your memories and mission stay with you. 👽 Space pirates, alien empires, and Filipino folklore monsters 🧠 Your choices matter. 🎲 Daggerheart rules. New players welcome. This campaign is for players who love science fiction with heart, moral complexity, and weird cosmic mystery. Touchstones include Farscape, Mass Effect, Firefly and Stargate, but the soul of the game comes from Filipino folklore: whispering spirits, nature gods, and moon eating serpents. You do not need to know any of these references to play. You only need to care about a character who has lost their original body and must decide what kind of person they want to become. I run games with player agency as the highest priority. Horror is present but always consensual. The dice create tension, but you create your character's soul. We will use Daggerheart's core rules. New players are absolutely welcome. I will teach you everything as we play. Expect a mix of exploration, negotiation, combat, and quiet moments of wonder and dread. Your mission is clear. The path home is not. Let's find out what you become.

About me

Hello! I go by Mxlpxl (he/him/they/them) online but my government name is Andrew. I've been playing TTRPGS since 2012 and have been enjoying my time as a Game Master over being a player. The game I have the most experience in is D&D 5th edition but I'm mostly playing other games nowadays like Daggerheart. In the daytime I'm a middle school teacher in the Bronx, NY teaching every subject from English Language Arts to Gym. When I'm not in the classroom or playing TTRPGs i'm running the discord "The Guild of Many Roads" alongside some wonderful moderators hosting ttrpgs and well as video games, helping build campaigns and sessions, sharing art, and so much more. I encourage grace, dignity, and opportunities for growth in the community. Patience is incredibly important to me. I'm also married and a father of one. Ethnically i'm a mix of Bengali on my fathers side and Filippino , Spanish, and Chinese on my mothers side. I have been known to use ttrpgs to explore my cultural roots but I also love my city of New York and use it as a basis for much content. In terms of my neurodivergence I wrestle with autism in my day to day. I'm working on not taking things too seriously and not geting heated about the nerdy things I enjoy. Now you know A LOT, but I'm sure there is more. I would like to know about you too. :D

Character creation

Creating your character

We will be creating characters using Demiplane. Demiplane content will be shared by the game master (me). The Character sheet will then transfer itself into Roll20 where we will be using that Virtual Tabletop t play. Character creation will be done at session 0 where we will devise our backstories, create party synergy in relation to combat mechanics/classes, and finally create connections between characters.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

You will need a Discord account, a Demiplane account, and a Roll20 account. In terms of hardware a microphone is a must and a camera is advised but optional (it is for immersion just as much as it is a safety tool).

What Mxlpxl brings to the table

Voices for NPCS and sound effects either from me or from the soundboard are abundant in this game. Music will be piped in from Roll20 to color scenes whether they be roleplay heavy, exploration, or combat. Animation for spell and weather effects, hand outs from NPCS and the world, and other Combat is often tactical, requiring synergy with your party, observing the environment for advantageous repositioning, and juggling various win conditions. Plan and prepare with your team as best as you can with the time allotted. Your opponents honor you in combat and will bring their best selves to any field of battle. Expect to make heroic compromises whose consequences will directly affect the trajectory of the story. You are the keys that turn locks to both treasure chests and incarcerated threats.

Safety

How Mxlpxl creates a safe table

Lines & Veils Document from the start so we know what subjects are okay to talk about at the table and in the plot. Stars/Wishes (optional Sparkles) at the end of every session to go over what we liked/did not like in the session to plan for future sessions. 15 minute intermission breaks in between sessions for check ins/bathroom breaks/snack breaks/walking around and stretching.
