About the adventure
The Great Hyperspace War is one of my favorite Star Wars stories to run because it feels massive, mythic, and personal at the same time. This is a campaign about war on the edge of civilization, young heroes being asked to carry impossible burdens, and a galaxy learning that its understanding of evil, loyalty, and survival may be incomplete. Players will take on the roles of young Jedi, Republic-aligned soldiers, brave civilians, survivors, smugglers, and scoundrels who are caught in the path of a Sith invasion. This is not a game about sitting on the sidelines while history happens somewhere else. This is a game about being the people history remembers—or forgets. I run this story as a trilogy, which means it is a commitment, but also means your characters get the chance to grow through a full arc. The campaign begins with fear, uncertainty, and the chaos of invasion. As the story continues, the players will uncover deeper truths about the war, the Sith, and the forces moving behind the conflict. The enemy is dangerous, but the greater danger may be misunderstanding what is really happening until it is far too late. Expect hard choices, desperate battles, political tension, ancient mysteries, and moments of heroism earned through sacrifice. This is Star Wars at its most mythic: brave souls standing in the fire while the galaxy changes around them.

Creating your character
This game is best for characters who can work as part of a larger struggle and still feel like real people inside the machine of war. Good fits include: * Young Jedi still learning what it truly means to serve the Force * Republic soldiers or officers trying to keep order in impossible conditions * Scoundrels, smugglers, and rogues dragged into something bigger than themselves * Scouts, pilots, medics, diplomats, and other support specialists * Force-sensitive characters struggling with fear, anger, duty, and destiny Your character should have a reason to care about survival, loyalty, and the fate of others. Lone wolves are welcome only if they can still function as part of a story-driven group.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Before the first jump to hyperspace, players should create a free Roll20 or Alchemy account, join the campaign Discord, and make sure their mic and internet are ready for action. I will provide setting notes, character guidelines, and any house rules ahead of time, so come prepared to build a hero ready to survive the fires of war.
What Jonathan Milton brings to the table
I provide a cinematic, immersive Star Wars experience built around strong roleplay, dramatic storytelling, and the feeling that your characters are living through a galactic war movie. Expect Star Wars music, ambient tone, character voices, visual aids, and a GM who leans hard into roleplay while still delivering tense, meaningful combat. I like battles to feel dangerous and earned, but I also believe in the Rule of Cool when it serves the story and keeps the action feeling like Star Wars. Players should expect a game with emotional investment, memorable scenes, and plenty of chances to shine both in and out of combat.

How Jonathan Milton creates a safe table
Even though Star Wars tends to be a more adventurous and lighthearted setting, player comfort still matters at my table. I use the Monte Cook consent and check-in approach, and during Session 0 we will go over tone, expectations, character fit, boundaries, and any content players want excluded or handled gently. During play, players can communicate discomfort privately by message or directly at the table, and I encourage open check-ins so concerns can be addressed quickly and respectfully. My goal is to deliver cinematic action, drama, and tension while making sure everyone feels safe, heard, and able to enjoy the adventure.
