About the adventure

This starter one-shot to the Cosmere RPG serves as a great way to learn how to play the system and even as an introduction to TTRPG in general. During an expedition to the Shattered Planes to look for an ancient ruin that has been unearthed by the latest Highstorm an unexpected event provokes a drastic change of plans. Now the group must find a way to return to the warcamps alive, but not before exploring the site. Will you find ancient texts or carvings giving you information about the ancient past pre Recreance? Will you find mythical fabrials from the Heraldic Epocs? O maybe, will you find a shardplate or blade and become a living legend? Only the journey to the ruins will let us know. Beginers are more than welcome.

About me

I became a DM in 2020 when a game of DnD I was playing in fizzled out. At that point I'd been playing for a while and was also a fan of actual play shows so one day I realized that I already new a lot of the rules and felt like I could give a shot to the whole running a game thing, the rest is history. I've never run a payed game but I felt like I could give it a try because I really like GMing. I'm running a couple of games atm but none consistently enough because of scheduling reasons and so I'm not really satified, again, I really like GMing. I'm very beginner friendly, I consider myself to be patient and I taught most of my friends how to play DnD when I started DMing and now Call of Cthulhu and the Cosmere RPG, with the later one I'm obviously quite new but working on it. I'm also eager to run a Vampire the Mascarade game at some point.

Character creation

Creating your character

There are pre generated characters available as part of the module but I'd be very happy to walk anyone interested through the steps for character creation if someone would like to do custom characters. In any case I'd want to organize a session 0 to discuss with everyone.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

I use Roll20 and Discord for running games so if you could have that ready for session 0 that'd be lovely, if anyone needed any help I'd be happy to help.

What Miguel brings to the table

I'm not a voice actor but I do try to keep my npcs as distinct as I can, so I try to do some charater voices. As you'll see the system has a bit of crunch at the begining when it comes to combat and so I tend to go rules as writen by default, but the nature of the Cosmere RPG leads to Rule of Cool moments that I'm very happy to embrace. Working on assembling a nice library of ambient music, so yeah, a work in progress there.

How Miguel creates a safe table

I'd like to discuss your Lines and Veils, any triggers anyone could have and agree on what to use. Roll 20 has a deck for X, N, & O to show if someone wants to slowdown, pause or skip a scene all together if needed and I'm happy to discuss with everyone if something comes up
