About the adventure

I’m running a game in EMBER using Foundry VTT. It’s a clean setup for online play. The maps have lighting, elevation, and a bit more going on than a basic grid, so moving around and exploring feels more natural. EMBER is set up more like a big, explorable region than a single storyline. There are a lot of different questlines, locations, and events already built in, and you decide what you engage with. It’s structured, but not linear. You’re choosing which paths to follow, and which ones to ignore. The world also keeps moving. Time passes, things change, and not everything waits for the party to show up. If you leave something alone, it can develop on its own. If you get involved, it can go in directions I didn’t plan ahead of time. The tone depends on the group. It can be serious when it needs to be, but there’s always room for humor and unexpected decisions. Combat shows up when it makes sense, but it isn’t the only focus. Talking, planning, and occasionally making things worse are all part of it. No experience with Foundry needed. I’ll help you get set up. If you want a game where you can explore, pick your direction, and see what comes of it, you’ll fit in fine.

About me

As a long time TTRPG player in many formats and a recent master of the VTT arts in foundry, I have crafted environments from high resolution maps, dynamic lighting, sound effects, curated music and every bit of cutting edge virtual table top technology I can muster to bolster my robust experience as a storyteller in order to provide the most immersive and comprehensive virtual table top experience possible. I have integrated high level automations and unique features into my foundry table, including functional and easy to use looting, gathering and crafting systems, NPC merchants, and sleek quest log and journal management which are sure to provide the most elite, developed online DND experience you have ever had.

Character creation

Creating your character

Character creation will take place during session zero. Information on available options will be provided on signup, or you can explore the available materials on the Ember website to find out more in advance.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Please have a microphone, a standalone discord client, and a computer capable of running the most recent version of Foundry VTT. No downloads required, and character creation will happen in session zero.

What Squizard The GM brings to the table

I bring premium alpha access to Ember, as well as the required foundry license. This includes custom token generation, and I will provide customized portraits with stylized frames for your character either using artwork provided by you, or artwork sourced by me if you prefer. All you need to bring is a positive attitude, a love for the game, and an eagerness to explore a new world with an entirely different cosmology, set of character options and setting from anything available in the dnd5e ruleset. Ember operates in 2024 rules only.

Safety

How Squizard The GM creates a safe table

X Cards are available to put a pause on gameplay for a private discussion with the DM. Stars and wishes will have a place at the end of every session to discuss what everyone thought was great and what may be improved upon, and session zero will serve to outline limits and boundaries for all participants.
