About the adventure
This is a twist on the classic Curse of Strahd game. In this adventure, you will play the servants of a rival Darklord, trying to slay the vampire Strahd von Zarovich in order to save your crumbling world. Whether you choose to play redeemable villains with goodness in their hearts, or wretched monsters who seek only their own gain, you will face great tests in the mists of Barovia. For anyone unfamiliar, Curse of Strahd is quite possibly the greatest adventure ever created for D&D 5e. It combines the thrilling adventure style of D&D with elements of gothic horror, making for a chilling edge-of-your-seat experience. As someone who has played through the game as an adventurer, I know that better than anyone. This adventure is LGBTQ+ friendly, and players with at least some D&D 5e experience are preferred. Because this is a campaign about villains, you are also allowed to choose your subclass from those introduced in UA12 - Villainous Options. Those include the Pestilence Cleric, Titan Druid, Hell Knight Fighter, and Demonic Sorcerer.

About me
My name is David, and RPGs have changed my life. I'm sure most people reading this can relate to that statement in some way. I have been playing some form or another of a TTRPG for about five years, and most of that time has been spent as the GM.

Creating your character
I will give everyone free help with character creation before we start. I want to make sure everyone is comfortable. We will work together to make characters that fit the setting and tone of the game.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
I play through Discord, so you will need to have an account on that. As for a VTT, I use Owlbear Rodeo, which doesn't require an account for players and is very mobile friendly.
What David brings to the table
I will bring an enthusiastic desire to make everyone have as much fun as possible. I try really hard to do character voices, even if some of them don't sound as good as I would like. I like intense, tactical combat - but I also love it when players roleplay amongst themselves. I believe the rules are flexible, but still important. You will not be expected to know everything about this game - the most important thing is just having fun.
Homebrew rules
I may make some modifications to traditional D&D rules, which will be discussed as a group in session zero. Most of them are intended to enhance the gothic horror setting.

Safety
How David creates a safe table
Before the game starts, we will discuss everything that is and isn't allowed at the table. I try and take great care to make sure everyone feels included and safe. I once had a player who was afraid of spiders, so I made it so that spiders in my world all look like puppies. If you are ever uncomfortable with anything at my table, please do not hesitate to message me and let me know.
