About the adventure
The Timescape faces a Sickness. Not a physical or psychological ailment, but a Cosmic one. Corruption rots the great city of Capital, while cruel tyrants impose their will over Vasloria. Chaos reigns, and a small group of heroes may be the only bastion of hope left for Orden. You and your party will travel all throughout Orden and the other Manifolds, seeking to bring Order and Justice to the Timescape as a whole. Will you rise to the challenge, or fall victim to the forces of Chaos and Evil? ------------------------------------------------------------------------ This will be a long-form campaign highlighting the amazing system Draw Steel as well as the built in setting of Orden and the Timescape. As a group, you'll largely have control over the narrative, where you go and what you hope to accomplish. No experience required for this campaign - just a willingness to contribute to the story and an enthusiasm for the excitement of collaborative story-telling :) This will be an asynchronous, Play-By-Post game. Everything will be run through Discord, so no subscriptions or other apps are required!

About me
Hi there! I'm Buppy. Welcome to the Pack! Games with me are a mix of serious, deep character-building moments and goofy comedy. I like to offer a mix of shorter and longer sessions so players can try new builds or characters while also enjoying their long-time favorites. I also love to help people learn the ropes, and as someone with years of teaching experience I'm a great asset to new players entering their TTRPG experience for the first time. Before finding my way into DnD fully, I was a huge nerd for fantasy stories and was constantly reading. When I was little I even got pulled out of a soccer game for bringing a book onto the field and reading during the game! (it fit in my pocket) My education is in music, and I think that running modules is and familiar settings scratches a similar itch to performing music - it's the same framework each time, but every play through is so very different! Creating your character
We'll be using Avrae, a bot plugin for Discord, to manage rolls. Plan to build your character at Level 1, but otherwise there are no restrictions! Every player will have one-on-one time before the session starts to talk over backstory/character ideas, and to help put your character sheet together if needed. We'll also spend a bit of time before we start talking through where you all are from, how you know each other, and what you'd like to "get" out of this game.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
This will be a Play-By-Post game, played asynchronously through Discord (using Avrae). This means that players and the Director can post without a set time throughout the week - everything is at the pace that works best for all involved! The entire game is text/image-based - there will be no voice chat at any point in game. As the DM I will make at least one long-form post daily, and will do my best to respond to player contributions ASAP. As players, you will be able to join at times that work well for you, at a pace that works for you as well. You do not need to have previous knowledge of Avrae, Discord, Play-By-Post games, or Draw Steel to join - I will guide you through every needed step! Once you sign up, hop into the Discord and we'll start getting you onboarded. The game itself will start once everyone is ready, and no players will be charged until we begin in earnest.

I'm excited for you to join my table! As a player, here is what you can expect from me as your Director: - Learning opportunities! Whether you're brand new or a seasoned veteran, there's always something new to learn. - A great focus on character backstory! I want your characters (and you as the players) to be truly invested in the happenings throughout the Timescape. - Engaging and memorable NPCs, both as allies and enemies! - While the rules are in place for a reason, sometimes you want to do something that doesn't quite fit a specific rule. That's ok! I use what is called the Rule of Cool - in essence, we will find a way to make it work if it's at all possible!

How Buppy creates a safe table
Before we begin, we will take some time to discuss our Lines and Veils, which will also be covered in a shared document for all players. I want to make sure all players feel safe and welcome during play - it's ok for characters to feel scared or stressed, but the players should be having fun! At any point, players can message me to let me know if something is making them uncomfortable. I am not against stopping a game to make sure everyone is feeling ok before moving forward, and we can always retcon/skip forward/etc if needed. Finally, my messages are always open! Feel free to message me anytime to let me know if something didn't work for you during the game, and we can find a way to make sure those things don't happen in the future.
