About the adventure
The land of Eldreth sits in uncomfortable turmoil of shaky treaties, corrupt alliances, and self serving royals. Humans, distrustful of fae touched races and all magics, seek to bring their image of peace to the lands. The mythic races fight back against the prejudices spurned by vengful desiers, though some approaches are viewed more extreme than needed. The Dragons, noble and evil, that formed Eldreth in the time of pre-history with their ground shaking battles, have retreated from the realm as the races war amongst themselves, fading into myth. The shadow of the Litch King, Vorath, threatens a second wave of death across the land. Are there adventurers brave enough to stand against injustice, fight for the preservation of the land, shed light on the dark corners of the world, and unite the races of Eldreth before the looming shadow envelopes all!? I entreat you brave wanderers, the journey will be long, perilous, and frought with death and dark magics, do you have what it takes to stand bright amidst the wave of shadow!?

About me
Merry meet! I am a detail oriented English and Journalism graduate student with focus in mythology and early romanticisim which has aided in my story crafting. I have played extensively, and am returning to the role of DM locally with a group of 9 other friends in a homebrew world of Eldreth that I have been building. (and would have great joy to explore elsewhere). I started playing with friends in 3rd and 3.5 edition Dungeons and Dragons in the point buy skill system. I have crafted campaigns in 4th and 5th editions as well as played in every edition published. I have played in other systems/expansions, such as: Forgotten Realms, Werewolf/Vampire, Star Wars, Pathfinder, Mutants and Masterminds and countless homebrews. I used to have "break this class" competitions with another DM friend where we would create multi-class and cross-class characters we considered unkillable and then fight them against each other. Which has given me a great understanding of craftinc challenging, but not overpowered villains. I truly love D&D and TTRPGs. Creating my new campaign has rekindled that burning passion that laid dormant for so many years. I believe myself more than capable of being an excellent professional DM.

Creating your character
PHB 5e: My stat rolling::: 5 d6 remove lowest sum results Results over 20 result in a monicher earned by the player (i.e. 20+ STR earns "The Mighty") The world operates on steam engines making fantasy steampunk builds legal. The state of the world allows for ONE (1) player to be a warforged race, that background is moderately pre-determined. Race limitations: Dragonborn are rare on the mainland and sequestered into nomads on The Desert Isles. Gnomes and Dwarves inhabit Deep Forge and formed a symbiosis of development. Half-Elves are extremely rare given state of turmoil between Elves and Humans. Orcs and Goblins are playble, largely outcast, reside in the Skull Marshes. Dark Elves and Tieflings are mostly driven to the Under Realms. Tieflings mix among the toplanders more often than Dark Elves.
Any class fits well into the adventure. I provide a class specific item that will help along the campaign.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Simple preparation of a 4th level characters, my Discord is an excellent way to collaborate on fitting characters within the world. I'm most familiar with Zoom and Discord, though prefer Discord due to Zooms time restriction on hosting meetings.
What Todd brings to the table
With a stage/improv bakground, I greatly enjoy crafting unique voices for my NPCs, as well as encorporating music with my campaigns (especially this one, which manifest in full blown musical combats.) I adore the Rule of Cool, and I also use Brennan Lee Mulligans "desperate measures" death throw table (info: https://www.polygon.com/critical-role-campaign-4-episode-8-house-rules-combat/)
Homebrew rules
Stubborn Drunks: a "stubborn drunk" is less likely to fall subject to a suggestion/charm spell if the command is "overtly disagreeable" in their present state. Ready action interrupts: If a player wishes to ready an action to interrupt an opponenets action, the action of the interrupt must be declared on your turn, i.e. "I am readying action to..." Villains use ready actions constantly! Forewarning so that players are aware I am not duping them when I advise that "an interrupt occurs."

Safety
How Todd creates a safe table
I provide a table that mixes Lines and Veils with X-ing safety measures. If any of the content warnings in the game are a Line or Veil, let me know and I will adjust accordingly. Secondarily, if a subject matter begins to arrise that becomes a line, players are welcome to "X" (via hand signal, or X emoji in chat) that subject matter and I will adjust.
