About the adventure

Ever wonder why cats have solidified themselves as queens and kings in the household while almost never giving anything back? What if I told you that was because they were the true rulers of the world, but choosing to play the fool under a veil of secrecy? Well wonder no longer as you jump into the real world hidden by a psychic veil of lies and manipulation as one of those who was graced with the truth. Whether a human who happened to learn the truth, a Bastet human with a cat mind stuck inside, or one of the remaining awakened cats of the world, carve your journey as you face the perils that drive the major problems that riddle the world. Who knew such problems would extend from such tiny frames.... The middle of the United States are often quoted to be "Fly Over States" due to how often folks would never purposefully land here. Mostly farmland over city boundaries, these states are extremely important - acting as some of the biggest sources of edible resources and transporting those resources around. While natural disasters are aplenty in the region, a consistent drought mixed with heavy storms has seen fields beginning to rot, sickness spreading to livestock, and even fish populations are on the decline as their riverbeds dry up. The humans host many fancy words to put the blame on this, but the Los Angeles and New York Councils believes that foul play from one of the problematic factions may be the true culprit. You and your team have been chosen to seek out the truth behind these events. Are you a molly from the region assigned to the party by the local Council? Are you an Angora on orders from the global council personally? Are a Scottish Fold that was simply wandering through and just happened to be mixed into this request? Or perhaps you are a human or bastet who is being forced to move along to the whims of the cats? Whoever and whatever you are - a story awaits. Will it lead to a better future or will the Conspurracy's veil shred apart to the open?

About me

Some dragons hoard gold. Others hoard gemstones. While I never will turn down such hoards, I hoard stories - a hoard that grows with each passing day. As a long-term roleplay writer, I enjoy creating new stories and curating prewritten ones to fit the tone or purpose of my stories, parties, and games. I have been type-roleplaying for many years, being part of the forum roleplay groups back in the age of Gaia Online and other similar groups. Since then, I have been writing posts that expressed the inner workings, the active actions, and the pointed conversations of hundreds of complex characters. This is only amplified when compiling them together to form a story that is reactive and interactable from a group seeking the next dawn. I have a corgi familiar named Fenrir who often enjoys giving me the Help action and is a mini-celebrity amongst my players, often having a related npc or party pet that represents Fenrir and his antics. I value narrative context and will do my best to fit the mechanics to the narrative you want. This has led me to curating and crafting custom content - often referred to as homebrew - for several games, players, and even other game masters. I do my best to not include AI generated imagery in my live games, choosing to not use such images for advertisement and actively replacing any edge/unknown cases with commissioned pieces, and often support growing artists in my communities. I also do not use AI in any of my play-by-post messages. This provides a raw experience to my creative inspirations.

What Onyx (Megan) brings to the table

I bring with me the knowledge of this system and any pdfs needed by the players to play the game. I'm also one to provide a narrative driven world with realistic feeling npcs. Finally I seek to put the narrative first, aiding in fitting the system's mechanics to the game.

Homebrew rules

Rules will be a little lax in favor of narrative and learning experiences. However homebrew additions will not be used during this game.

How Onyx (Megan) creates a safe table

This is a game related to cats and their psychic abilities. This means that there can be some aspects of gameplay that can be troubling to certain people. For this reason, I will lay down some ground rules: 1. Cats will be harmed in gameplay. This is inevitable. When cats are a player character option, it is only natural that said animals will end up getting harmed in one way or another. The severity of the harm can be discussed, but this should be understood outright. 2. Psychic powers includes mental ones. This does mean that mind control, alteration, memory wipes and more can happen. It can also lead to cat minds being stuck in human bodies. 3. There is a bit of "Racism" or "Slavery" present in the system's settings. When I say this, I refer to how humans, in this setting, were created initially to be servants to cats. Even though they have been manipulated to forget that key fact to protect the remaining awakened ones, that is a fact that is still reliably referred to in context. This can become problematic when referring to or playing as a human or bastet - a cat whose mind was trapped in a human body - which are not considered on the same level as other awakened cats in the Conspurracy societies. The degree that this concept sees itself can be lessened of course, but it is a narrative disadvantage for players want to have disposable thumbs and human capabilities. A discussion over lines and veils will be had at session 0 before character creation discussions so we can discuss the style of game folks want to focus on so that everyone has a good time.
