About the adventure

Ordinary Girl by Daylight, Magical Girl by Midnight is a Girl by Moonlight campaign. This campaign is intended to have a similar vibe to Sailor Moon, Tokyo Mew Mew, or Cardcaptor Sakura. We will be playing with the "At The Brink of the Abyss" playset. I am aiming to keep this short, and it will probably span around 10 sessions give or take. You will be playing a teenager who has only just gained their magical girl powers. You will have to juggle your regular life at home and school with your secret identity as a magical girl fighting against the forces of evil. Caught between the sometimes painful realities of growing up, and trying to keep the world safe. With your hectic life, can you find balance? Can you defeat the forces of evil? Most importantly, does your crush even know you exist? This table is LGBTQ+ friendly, and has a no tolerance policy for bigotry. This game is beginner friendly! We will be using the X card and having a free session 0. I look forward to playing with you :)

About me

Howdy! My name is Ellie. I have been playing and DMing DND 5e and a host of other systems (such as Masks, Monster of the Week, Good Society, and have even made my own TTRPG system) for almost 10 years. I would love to take my skill set and use it to host even more games. DMing is super fun for me, and I love coming up with new modules and story ideas to have a good time with players foiling my plans every step of the way. I am part of the LGBT community, and when I host games you can be sure that it is a safe space for any queer players. I also do not tolerate racism, sexism, or any other hateful content or speech at my tables. I aim to make my games fun and safe for all involved. On this note, I utilize the X card so that players know they can take a time out any time if needed to discuss how to proceed if they are uncomfortable with a current situation in game. I am open to almost any setting or system that you want to try. I am a flexible, highly collaborative DM who plays for the love of the game. Please feel free to message me any specific questions on discord.

Creating your character

We will create characters together at session 0!

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Please at least have a mic, a discord account, and a roll20 account.

What Ellie brings to the table

We will use roll20 and discord to do our sessions! I am a GM who loves tactical combat and heavy roleplay. I try to offer something for everyone, so one of the things I ask in session 0 is to tell me what you like the most about playing TTRPGS. I love involving player characters in the world, and I am willing to work with you on tying your characters into the plot and world building. I love a player driven game, but I am open to creating a more structured game. I am flexible, and will work with players to make a game that everyone enjoys.

How Ellie creates a safe table

We will be using the x card! In order to utilize the x card, simply say the phrase "x card". During session 0 we will go over table norms so we can all be on the same page. I do not tolerate bigotry at my table. Please be aware that this game involves a lot of feelings. We will likely explore themes of queerness, the sometimes difficult parts about growing up, and finding yourself. I try to handle every topic with care. That being said, this game is not being to be an edgy, grim dark pain fest. I would say it is rated PG-13.
