About the adventure

The pitch: Reclaiming the middle continent. The Great Migration to reclaim the lost lands of the middle continent has begun. The Sanctum Valerion is calling upon all Ruin-walkers to join their holy crusade in re-colonizing the lands lost during the great war. The Empire of Light offers eight chests of Gold to any and all Ruin-walkers willing to report to Fort Gracehaven, under the command of Knight-Captain Kaelen Crof, and perform four Walks within four different ruins to be specified by the captain upon arriving at Fort Gracehaven. Walkers will be required to fill out a report and determine whether said ruins are capable of re-habitation, what dangers or creatures might still reside within said Ruins, and any available resources that the Empire of Light can make use of once the ruins have been fully assessed. Standard Looting rights up to and not to exceed four Bags of gold per Ruin are in effect, but anything over will be deducted from the Ruin-Walkers' total pay at the end of the assignment. For those of the appropriate theological orientation, they may choose to trade in their chests of gold for the appropriate titles and land vouchers, should they be interested in settling within the region.

About me

Hello, My Discord Handle is Zxpie. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions. I've been an on-and off-GM for many years now, with a focus on individualistic storytelling and module modification, which is a fancy way of saying I take a bunch of unrelated module adventures and cramming them together into some semblance of a cohesive story and try and take the time to customize individual B-plot stories for each and every one of my players...with some by the numbers combat thrown in for extra flavor.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

A stable internet connection and the ability to access and use Foundry VTT and Discord.

What Zxpie brings to the table

I will be bringing a fully prepared module adventure, with custom maps, tokens, and content from Foundry Vtt and D&D Beyond. I do character voices and custom A.i. art when I can find the time, and in general will use liberal use of the Rule of Cool. I also expect players to have fun, follow the rules of conduct, and keep open and honest communication between the other players and me.

Homebrew rules

None at this time.

RPG Consent Checklist: All players will be given a fillable checklist of all things they want or do not want to see in the game, and must fill it out and return it before session one (1), [Two (2) under strange circumstances…. or they just forgot, but definitely before Session three and whole plot is already locked in]shared story. This includes making characters that are fun for you and the rest of the group to play with. • Rules Debates: Brief rules discussions are fine, but the GM's ruling is final to keep the game moving. We can always discuss a ruling in more detail after the session. • Metagaming: Please do not use your out-of-character knowledge to have your character make decisions they wouldn't make. Let the story unfold naturally for everyone. Character & Story • Player Agency: You always have control over your character's choices and actions. • Character Creation: You can use any official materials the GM owns. If you want something from a book the GM doesn't have, please provide a copy. Make a character who cares, at least a little, about the world and the party. • Player Input: Session 0 is the time to express what you want from the game. The GM will try to include player backstories and plot ideas, but this may take time. However, if the GM gives a firm "No" on a character or plot concept, that decision is final. • Character Death: Death is a real possibility, especially if you take on impossible challenges. If a character dies, the group may be able to go on a quest to bring them back. A Note on AI Use The GM uses AI tools for brainstorming, editing, and generating inspirational images. These tools are paid for with game funds and help polish the final product. The core story, world, and all original concepts are the GM's own work. Content Submission Any characters, stories, or content you create for the game remain your intellectual property. You grant the GM a license to use that content for the purposes of running this campaign and chronicling its events.
