About the adventure

Beneath the quiet seaside town of Otari, something dangerous is stirring. Strange happenings and whispered fears point to a growing menace below the surface — and it’s up to a group of unlikely heroes to investigate what’s really going on. This adventure introduces you to the world of Pathfinder through exploration, problem-solving, and moments of real choice. This game is designed as a gentle, welcoming introduction to Pathfinder 2e. You’ll learn the rules as we play, without needing prior experience, and focus on understanding your character, working as a team, and reacting to the world around you. Every decision matters — how you approach a problem can shape what happens next. Expect a cozy, collaborative table where roleplay and character growth are encouraged. Combat is present, but it’s not just about winning fights — it’s about teamwork, consequences, and how your character responds when things don’t go as planned. Creativity and curiosity matter more than “perfect” builds. We’ll be playing using Foundry VTT, with guidance provided throughout, so you can focus on enjoying the adventure rather than worrying about mechanics. If you’ve ever been curious about tabletop RPGs or wanted a supportive place to learn Pathfinder, this is a great place to begin.

About me

Hey, I’m Cam. I got into PF2e a couple years ago and eventually became curious about GMing. Since then, I’ve run the Beginner’s Box, Malevolence, Outlaws of Alkenstar, and I’m currently running Stolen Fate

Character creation

Creating your character

Characters will start at Level 1. I use Pathbuilder 2e for character creation (https://pathbuilder2e.com). No prior experience with the system is required, and I’m happy to help walk you through it so it is ready before the session. If you’d prefer to jump straight into play, pre-generated characters will also be available. They include a fighter, cleric, rouge, and wizard.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Before the first session, players will need to: Have access to a computer with a stable internet connection Join the game on Foundry VTT (no account purchase required, it's a simple link to join) Create a character using Pathbuilder 2e or select a pre-generated character Join the game’s Discord server for voice chat and communication

What Cameron brings to the table

Before the session, I make sure I am ready with maps, encounters, and story elements ready to go in Foundry VT. I handle rules questions and pacing using a Rules as Intended (RAI) approach to keep the game moving smoothly, and to create a more flexible environment where creativity is rewarded. I aim to make sure that player choices matter and everyone gets space in the spotlight. My focus is on clarity, consistency, and helping players feel confident engaging with the story, whether they’re experienced or brand new to Pathfinder 2e.

Safety

How Cameron creates a safe table

I will have a lines and veils document that each player can fill out (anonymous if they prefer). During Session 0, we’ll briefly go over table expectations, tone, house rules, and how I handle rulings. I’ll also do a quick check-in for boundaries, and make sure everyone is comfortable with the tools we’re using before play begins.
