About the adventure
Roger Rabbit was framed for murder and rogue PI Eddie Valiant stopped the real killer. Toontown was now soley owned by the toons, the reel kept spinning, everything went back to normal, except something was off. A toon had killed. The image of lovable laugh seeking toons had been stained with blood. Then the killings began. All evidence points to a toon, perhaps several. Police seem powerless to stop them. Toontown is a bouncing labyrinth of chaos, even if you can get over the motion sickness, finding anything, or anyone, is nearly impossible. Then of course, there is apprehending an invincible being with limitless power. Things are beginning to look bleak, despite some pure hearted toons efforts to lighten the mood, as well as public opinion. Yet nobody seems able to confront the looming shadow of Toontown Will you be the ones to stand up to the seemingly unstoppable threat? PreGens- While players are free to create their own characters, below are several pre-generated playbooks that work well within the setting or as inspiration for your own character concept. Monstrous A toon who has started to change. Your toon abilities are greatly dulled. The change has affected you strangely. You still want to make people laugh, but you suddenly have other wants, ones that just have to be expressed, often at the wrong time, and sometimes with disastrous consequences. Flake Toon Town's existence poses so many questions nobody has been asking. When and How did it appear. What are they? Why is nobody bothered? All the questions and more motivate you to find the truth. Proffessional Toons are some of the nicest folks you'll ever meet, but even they need kept in check. Maybe you're a simple cop trying to keep the peace. Or maybe, you are part of a secret force, that keeps unruly, maniacal toons under wraps. You've seen the twisted side of toons, and you wouldn't wish it upon anyone. People need to sleep after all. Mundane Toons are hilarious! You grew up adoring toons. Some of your best friends are toons! You can't imagine how dull your life would be without them. Perhaps you even have dreams of becoming a performer yourself. Perhaps you're even an artist, looking for the secret to bringing your own toons to life. If you love the idea of mixing gritty noir with wacky toon schenanigans and a thick sugar coating of horror, then you'll love playing in The Shadow of Toontown!

Creating your character
If this is your first time playing Monster of the Week, let me provide a simple breakdown of character creation. Character sheets in MotW are called Playbooks. Each playbook contains abilities and special moves that lend themselves to fulfilling a certain role within the trope. Creation itself is simple. You pick the playbook that sounds the most appealing to you, and once you have a concept in mind, you check the boxes of the moves you want. No rolling involved. If you want to create a character outside those presented in the game description, then please let me know your ideas in the Discord! Due to the setting I would prefer that players avoid playbooks revolving around outright magic, as we will be aiming to play within the cannon of the film. If you wish to use a playbook outside the basic core rules, I will need to ok it, but am open. Other than outright creation, session zero will act as a time to meet your fellow players and set the tone for the setting, ironing out any questions and ideas.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Watch Who Framed Roger Rabbit if you haven't already! Or who cares!? All you need to know is you're fighting cartoons! As long as you have access to discord and roll20 you're golden.
What Jonas brings to the table
I will provide wacky cartoon voices as well as normal human voices. If I deem background music appropriate at the time, then it shall appear. Monster of the Week is almost entirely narrative in it's rules so maps will most often be simple and include pictures for spacial reference, rather than tactical grid maps. I will also strive to describe the world and beings in vivid detail, and at times, have appropriate art of cartoon monstrosities and npcs alike, all self created.
Homebrew rules
Rules as Written is the golden standard we stand by here at Monster of the Week. Nothing more, nothing less.
