About the adventure

Strange goings on at the temple of Gorum on an Island off the coast of Old Thassilon require our heroes to determine the causes of a deadly new illness and defeat those trying to raise an ancient enemy. Feeling stronger, the party will head to Sandpoint, where more ancient enemies await you. Once you save Sandpoint, tales of your exploits have spread across the continent, and the party gains mythical powers as the ancient enemy rises again to bring the continent to heel.

About me

My name is Katabri. I have been playing TTRPGs since 1980. I did take a break to raise my kids, but kept up with material. When I came back to Dungeons and Dragons, it quickly became apparent that the easiest way to play in a game was to run it myself. So, I've been DMing for about 15 hours per week since January of 2023. I enjoy running DnD 5e and Pathfinder 2e games and endeavor to bring a fun and immersive experience for all my players.

Character creation

Creating your character

Players will need a computer able to run Foundry and a reasonable headset and microphone. We will use my private Discord Server for voice and text communication. Access to Pathbuilder 2e (free version is fine) and Archives of Nethys (free) will be incredibly helpful. I will walk you through character creation in either Pathbuilder or in Foundry VTT. The last thing you need is your excitement to learn and play the game! I'm here to help and am excited to create your story with you!

What to expect

Preparing for the session

🧨We will work through character creation during Session 0, as well as going over safety protocols and house rules. 🧨You can use Pathbuilder 2e and the Foundry server to create your level 1 character. I will walk you through either one. We will be using the free archetype and ancestral paragon variant rules. 🧨Paizo has partnered with the Archives of Nethys to provide all the rules with us FREE! If you have the Core Rulebook or the Player Core Remastered, feel free to use them. 🧨Feel free to come to Session 0 with a character concept that you can (or not) change as you speak with the other players at the table. 🧨I will have premade characters available if you just want to jump in without the character creation process.

What DM Katabri | The Benevolent DM brings to the table

My games are all run on Foundry servers. I work hard to bring great maps, appropriate ambient music, and fun to my games. My monsters act according to their instincts, wisdom and intellingence. I am always willing to let players attempt really cool things, and will bend the rules to make it happen!

Homebrew rules will be discussed at session zero.

Safety

How DM Katabri | The Benevolent DM creates a safe table

Prior to Session 0, I ask that each player fills out and returns the Consent in Gaming Checklist (pinned in General channel). At session 0, players will have the opportunity to introduce themselves, and the group will collectively go over the checklist so we all understand what will and will not be permitted during sessions. A safety module is utilized in Foundry that allows players to anonymously halt play. A private DM to the GM will then let the GM understand where lines were crossed, and a solution will be immediately brought forth. Players are welcome to send the GM a message at anytime with any concerns.
