About the adventure

Something is rotting beneath the Dalelands and it has a name long buried: Moander, the Darkbringer. Once thought destroyed, the god of corruption stirs again beneath ancient ruins and tangled roots, spreading decay through the Greenwood and into the hearts of the Dales themselves. This campaign thrusts you into a growing crisis as scattered signs of corruption reveal a far more sinister truth. Cults fester in hidden places, forgotten shrines awaken, and the land itself begins to twist under Moander’s influence. What begins as isolated incidents quickly becomes a race to uncover the source before the rot consumes everything. Expect a dark fantasy adventure filled with exploration, roleplay, and deadly encounters, where the threat is not just monsters but the slow, creeping corruption of the world around you. From Shadowdale to the depths of Cormanthor, you’ll face unnatural horrors, unravel ancient secrets, and confront a power that was never meant to return. This game is perfect for players who enjoy high stakes storytelling, grim atmosphere, and meaningful choices. The rot is spreading. The question is not just whether you can stop it but what it will cost you to try.

About me

Hi there! I’m zonez, and I’ve been crafting worlds fora little over a year now. My goal as a GM is to make sure every player at my table feels like the hero of an epic story. Whether we are navigating the gritty streets of a gothic/ horror story or delving into a classic high fantasy dungeon fighting dragons I focus on player agency and immersive storytelling throughout my campaigns and onee shots. What can you as a player expect to find in my games? Immersive atmosphere! I use Foundry Vtt, a high powered virtual rable top system. With this system i'm able to run high quality maps, immerse the play into the game through ambience. Integrated background music, and special animation FX! Beginner Friendly! Wether your new to role-playing, virtual table tops, or using online communications. I as a DM can help guide you through new experiences and make it fun all the while. Safety Tools! I use different safety tools or methods to ensure every player feels comfortable and respected during a game Zero Tolerance for Bigotry I run an inclusive table where everyone, (regardless of identity)can feel safe to be themselves and have fun. Flexible Storyteller! I love telling all different themes or stykes of stories or adventures. Spanning across from high fantasy to sci-fi or horror. My preferred style is dark/horror. Such as Curse of Strahd.

What Zonez brings to the table

In Echoes of Rot, you can expect a deeply immersive, story-driven experience where your character is at the center of the narrative. I place a strong emphasis on character backstories, personal arcs, and meaningful choices, weaving your individual stories directly into the unfolding events of the Dalelands. Your decisions won’t just affect the world, they’ll shape your character’s legacy within it. This game is enhanced through Foundry VTT, featuring high-quality maps, dynamic lighting, ambient soundscapes, and immersive visual effects that bring each location to life. From the quiet tension of a shadowed forest to the unsettling atmosphere of corrupted ruins, every scene is designed to pull you deeper into the world. Storytelling and roleplay are at the heart of this campaign. Expect engaging NPCs, emotional moments, and a tone of creeping dread and mystery as the influence of Moander spreads. I aim to create a cinematic experience where exploration feels meaningful, and every discovery adds to the larger narrative. Combat will still be tense and impactful, but always in service of the story. Designed to challenge you while reinforcing the stakes of the world around you. This is a game for players who want to invest in their character, explore a living world, and be part of a collaborative, unforgettable story.

Safety

How Zonez creates a safe table

Player comfort and safety are a top priority at my table. Before the campaign begins, I provide a Lines and Veils document so players can privately share boundaries, topics to avoid, and content they’d prefer handled off-screen. These are always respected, no questions asked. We will also have a Session 0 where we go over expectations, tone, character concepts, and any concerns. This ensures everyone is on the same page and helps build a collaborative, respectful group dynamic from the start. During play, I use X, N, & O safety tools, which can be communicated digitally or through chat at any time. If something becomes uncomfortable, we pause, adjust, or move on, no explanations required. Player well being always comes first over the game. After sessions, I encourage open communication and check-ins, giving players space to share feedback or concerns privately. My goal is to create a table that is inclusive, respectful, and fun, where everyone feels safe to fully engage in the story.
