About the adventure

Dungeon Mister’s Last Chance Company is expanding into a wild frontier where settlements cling to the edges of deep forests, rolling plains, and monster‑haunted ruins. This campaign follows the Company’s newest branch as it establishes itself in an untamed region filled with dangerous creatures, forgotten places, and communities in need of help. Each session is a self‑contained monster‑hunting contract. Players can join for a single job or return for many, with the branch’s reputation and the surrounding frontier growing naturally through play. The tone blends tactical combat, grounded roleplay, and atmospheric exploration, with room for humor and character moments. The campaign begins with reclaiming a small ruin near a frontier settlement — a dangerous but promising site chosen to become the guildhall. From there, the branch takes on contracts that lead into forests, hills, swamps, caves, and other hazards of the frontier. No prior knowledge of the setting is required; the region reveals itself through the jobs the Company accepts. This game is ideal for players who enjoy clear objectives, memorable creatures, and a flexible, drop‑in friendly structure. Whether you’re new to D&D or a veteran looking for focused, satisfying sessions, the Last Chance Company has work for you. This game is ideal for players who enjoy tactical combat, grounded roleplay, and a clear mission structure. Each session features a focused objective, a distinct location, and a memorable creature or threat. New players can drop in for a single job, while long‑term players will see the guildhall evolve, NPCs return, and the frontier slowly take shape. If you want a low‑commitment, high‑variety game where every session feels like a complete adventure — but still contributes to a living world — this branch of the Last Chance Company is hiring.

About me

I’m a full‑time Dungeon Master and mapmaker who runs grounded, story‑driven campaigns with a strong sense of atmosphere and place. My tables focus on character choices, naturalistic worldbuilding, and encounters that feel connected to the environment rather than dropped in from nowhere. I’ve been running D&D for over twenty years, and I design all my own battlemaps by hand — no AI, no shortcuts. Every location is built to support tactical clarity, narrative tension, and player agency. Players who join my games can expect: - Clear stakes and steady pacing - Immersive environments that react to player choices - Thoughtful NPCs with believable motives - Collaborative tone where everyone has room to shine - Reliable scheduling and communication My favorite part of GMing is helping a group of strangers become a party — and then watching the story evolve around the choices they make. If you want a campaign that balances cinematic moments with grounded roleplay, you’ll fit right in.

Character creation

Creating your character

We begin with a short Session Zero to handle character creation, expectations, and safety tools. Characters start at level 1 and are created directly in Roll20. Only the 2024 Player’s Handbook and the new Forgotten Realms Player’s Guide are used for this campaign to keep the table consistent and accessible. Future releases may be considered as they release. We will be using Standard Array as well. Characters should have a reason to take contracts for the Last Chance Company — coin, reputation, redemption, or simple curiosity all work. No D&D Beyond sheets are used.

Safety

How Dungeon Mister creates a safe table

Session Zero - Session Zero covers table expectations, Luxton Technique/Discussion and character creation. We review what players want or prefer to avoid, establish tone, and build characters together in Roll20 using the 2024 PHB and the new Forgotten Realms book. Debriefing / Aftercare happens after the session as a general discussion as a group to see how everyone feels after the game.
