About the adventure

Welcome choombas, to Night City!! The City of Dreams! Here, anyone can make their names, their fortune, and their own legacy. Carve your name into the memories of this storied city and join the ranks of those legends like Morgan Blackhand, Spider Monkey and Wayland Boa Boa! In Flesh and Chrome, step into the armored boots of a crew of edgerunners crawling their way from the bottom to be the top mercs in Night City. You all come from different walks of life, but now find yourselves brought together by a common goal - to collect fat stacks of eddies, and make your dreams come true. Are you an aspiring Rockerboy looking to break into the scene and spread your message? A hard-boiled Media digging into the truth of those Biotechnica organ farms? A thrill-seeking Netrunner looking to see how close you can get to the Blackwall? A grizzled Lawman looking to finally bring some proper justice to these anarch streets? And of course, can you live long enough to get paid, and find a way to the top of Night City? Will you get out alive? Flesh and Chrome is intended as an introduction to Cyberpunk and Night City. For those brand new to the setting and mechanics, and those who have played 2077 for the hundredth time. We will clash with gangs all throughout the city, break up illegal operations to claim the ill-gotten goods for our own, and infiltrate megacorporation headquarters for a bit of espionage, sabotage, and good old-fashioned violence. Ready to make your name in Night City? And if things go wrong, maybe they'll name a drink at Afterlife after you.

About me

A humble player of rpgs who has been behind and in front of the screen consistently for over two decades, I am a lover of all editions of D&D, Pathfinder, Shadowrun and WoD. Experience in running 3.5, 4th and 5th edition D&D, Shadowrun, various WoD and CoD campaigns and games both independent and obscure. My games run from simple, heartfelt adventures to deep social dramas and good old-fashioned dungeon diving!

Character creation

Creating your character

We will be gathering for a Session Zero to create our characters together. To bring out the best customization options and truly make some preem chooms to run wild in the streets of Night City, we will be using the Complete Package rules found in the core rulebook. Players are welcome to come with basic concepts, but we will be rolling together as a crew.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Players should have a Discord account and access to a microphone. Cameras are optional, although the GM will be on camera.

What Chris brings to the table

In terms of material, I will be providing pdf copies of the Core Rulebook and character sheet. These will be in the Resource section of the Discord site. If you're looking an eager edgerunner looking to cause some mayhem, this is the game you are looking for. While there will be a story to follow, as a crew you are the ones who decide where we go, what threads are worth following, and what chaos we get up to every mission. As a GM, it is my job to bring the world to life, and to play off the cues you provide me. Here, every player is made to feel important, and as though they can add their own flavor to the setting. Action, excitement and thrills run through my veins; as I delight in running combat encounters as living, breathing set-pieces.

Homebrew rules

The principle Homebrew rule I use is Achievements: When players perform an action that delights both myself and the party, they are awarded an Achievement at the end of the session. Achievements can come from performing a particularly gruesome kill, succeeding at a Herculean task, or just saying or doing something that makes me smile. This Achievement comes with a bonus of an extra 10 IP.

How Chris creates a safe table

Players will be provided a link to a Lines and Veils pdf, which is to be filled out and submitted prior to Session Zero. During Session Zero, the players and I will go over their established Lines and Veils, as well as discuss other subjects which may be taboo which weren't present on the sheet or were thought of later. During our sessions, we will take a break halfway through so that I may touch base with the players and make sure they are still comfortable and having fun. Whenever there is a heavy scene or someone asks for a scene to stop, we will also employ these breaks to make sure everyone is okay. Each session will also end with a brief discussion on what the players liked, how they feel the game is going, and any concerns they would like to address. My DMs will also be open for players to discuss their concerns in confidence. Over the course of play, players will be asked to submit their X, N and O's to me through DM to maintain their confidentiality.
