About the adventure
Dark Mysteries at Oregon State University (1995) A Supernatural Mystery Campaign ***New Players friendly. session zero free. Join my new campaign/ already play-tested*** Welcome to Oregon State University, 1995. Home of the Beavers, overpriced textbooks, late-night pizza… and the occasional creature stalking the dorm hallways at 3 a.m. At first the strange events seem isolated — a missing tutor, fresh food turning rotten overnight, an attack in the science block car park, and rumours of something moving through the forests at night. But the deeper you investigate, the clearer it becomes: Something ancient is stirring beneath Corvallis. You didn’t ask to become monster hunters — but you have seen beyond the mortal veil that protects society’s mind. Someone has to uncover the truth before the town is swallowed by whatever is crawling out of the shadows. And right now, you’re the only ones who believe the danger is real. The truth is out there-if you are brave enough to find it. What to Expect in This Game In this campaign, you will play students or faculty uncovering supernatural mysteries around **Oregon State University and the surrounding town of Corvallis. Each mystery will lead you deeper into a hidden world of strange events, forgotten folklore, and supernatural forces that most people refuse to believe exist. Players will: • Investigate strange disappearances and unexplained events • Explore eerie locations across campus and the surrounding forests • Interview witnesses and follow unsettling clues • Confront monsters and supernatural threats • Slowly uncover a much larger mystery hidden within the town Every investigation reveals another piece of the truth — and the deeper you dig, the more dangerous that truth becomes.

About me
Hi Everyone I am Rick. I have been playing/games Mastering Roleplay since buying the Legendary game of Rolemaster(v2) on my 13th Birthday. Roleplay has influenced my life, my imagination and my art skills ever since. I had the amazing opportunity when I was selected to GM Rolemaster at GENCON a few years back for Iron Crown. I have played many years Face to face around the table, Since 2018 I have been playing at least once weekly Roleplay mainly as the GM through Roll20 and recently through Foundry VTT.

Creating your character
***Session Zero will be free*** We’ll build characters together at the start of the first session using MotW playbooks. I am also happy to build a character before hand if we can arrange the free time. You’re encouraged to bring ideas — backstory, relationships, or a weird quirk — and we’ll tie them into the mystery. Optionally: I can provide a selection pre-generated Hunters for a quick start.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
You will need a free Discord account. I will send you a free link to Foundry and to my Discord server to join the game.
What Rick Scene Weaver brings to the table
You can expect a GM who is fully invested in bringing the story to life. I love giving NPCs distinct voices and personalities (as long as the group enjoys it!), using ambient music to enhance tension and atmosphere, and providing visual art to help immerse you in the world. As the Keeper (GM) I will use my Camera as I feel it helps communication from my side. It is your choice to use a camera or not. Most importantly, I’m here to champion your characters. I want to see you take bold risks, shape the narrative, and surprise me with choices I never saw coming. You drive the story — I just help direct it from behind the screen.

Safety
How Rick Scene Weaver creates a safe table
Player safety always comes first. Before we dive into the action, we’ll start with a short Session 0 where we talk about expectations, tone, and any boundaries players want to set. I will provide a Lines & Veils document for everyone to review and update so we all know which themes are okay, which should be minimized, and which are completely off-limits. Throughout the game, we’ll use digital X, N, & O cards (simple buttons/messages) so anyone can communicate discomfort privately or publicly at any time — no explanation required. I always pause immediately and steer the scene back into safe territory. I also make space at the end of each session for a quick aftercare check-in: what worked, what didn’t, and if anyone needs to talk through a tense moment. This helps ensure that everyone leaves the table feeling good, supported, and excited to return. Above all, you’ll be treated with respect, kindness, and agency. We’re here to have fun — and that means making sure every player feels safe while we chase the monsters.
