About the adventure
This quest through the Nine Hells is a deep dive into one of the least-published yet most fascinating areas of 5e lore, and it give players a chance to try out high level play from jump. We're traversing the Hells one layer at a time, seeking out bound souls who were snatched from their owners on technicalities so brazen as to give even the most lawyerly devils pause. Facing off against powerful devils and the corrupted outlanders they've seduced, conscripted, or hired into their service, this adventure will test just how far the heroes are willing to go in pursuit of their goals.

About me
15k+ Hours GMed | 7 Year Pro | Narrative-Focused Beyond all the above, what you're getting with me as a DM is a friendly, relaxed experience. In interpreting rules and making judgment calls, I aim for consistency and tend to err on the side of the player if there's no clear-cut answer at hand. While the PC adventurers may delve into all manner of dark, dangerous places, I try to build a welcoming environment for all players, which includes prioritizing player safety and ongoing communication. We play games to have fun, and that's only possible if players' needs are met. If all of the above sounds like the sort of thing you're looking for, don't hesitate to reach out and schedule your next adventure today. I look forward to hearing from you!

Creating your character
With the game already in progress, check with me for the exact character level. You'll start with the standard stat array and build from there to level 10+, ideally on our Roll20 campaign to avoid transcribing (though Beyond via Beyond20 Extension is also okay). Just keep in mind we're ONLY using the 2014 ruleset, and this adventure is set in the forgotten realms, so... No MtG races, please.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
You'll need accounts on Discord and Roll20 for sure, and optionally D&D Beyond if you prefer to use their sheet. Discord app tends to be more stable than using the browser version, so I highly suggest that. Invites to the community Discord and Roll20 campaign will be sent as part of onboarding, so please follow them when you receive them.
What Eric (RockNRole) brings to the table
I'm a pro GM of nearly ten years now, so I've got tons of fun voices, vibrant maps, and other visual aids. Because I find so many people would rather set their own soundtrack via Spotify or whatever, I don't typically use ambient music anymore. Combat is challenging, but not so brutal as to demand a certain kind of character design from players. I've been called "brutal, but fair" regarding how I play my characters intelligently without feeling the need to give them plot armor. I tend to run things pretty much Rules as Written, though I typically try to decide ambiguities in the players' favor. We're here to have fun, after all!

Safety
How Eric (RockNRole) creates a safe table
We've had a session zero, and I'd ask that new players raise any potential problem subjects as early as possible. That said, I recognize that sometimes we don't know what we don't know, so the door is always open for someone to call a timeout or request a fade to black for safety reasons. Impactful storytelling is cool and fun, but safety is paramount and ALWAYS takes priority.
