About the adventure

Welcome to the Great Smoky Mountains. It's a beautiful place to be undead. Things really come alive on road trips. You pack the car with your friends and head off to a show in Knoxville, blaring mixed tape after mixed tape. The rest of the world can't distinguish you from the other troubled youth that abound. This place you're headed to in Knoxville, they know what you are.

About me

Check out The Wives Anarchy https://www.twitch.tv/thewivesanarchy to see me run games like Candela Obscura. I'm here for collaborative storytelling and world-building. I aim to create a welcoming space for players to try new things, have fun and share our enthusiasm for RPGs. From hunting vampires to becoming vampires, I'll lead your characters on a fulfilling journey and we'll spin a good yarn together. I love to introduce beginners to ttrpgs and new games. I try a lot of new games myself so I am very familiar with how it feels to learn something new. I hope I'm able to help my players delight in learning games. My background includes education and writing instructions. Helping people play games is a fun way to use that skill set. I've been organizing a TTRPG meetup for 7 years focused on creating a welcoming space for marginalized gamers. I helped guide the group to be open to all genders. Running the group really helps me to see how to create a supportive environment for marginalized people and how that environment supports the larger community. The biggest game I ever ran was a 20 person West Marches campaign. That game honed my communication and organization skills and certainly helped me to negotiate tricky situations between players. Making people feel welcome and comfortable in this amazing TTRPG space is my primary goal.

Character creation

Creating your character

Characters will be neonates. Pre-generated characters will be available in Roll20. There will also be an opportunity to participate in guided character creation during session zero using Demiplane. I will also be available to answer character questions before session zero through StartPlaying messages or Discord.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

You'll need a mic and access to Discord. Camera is optional. You'll need to login to Roll20. I will provide a rules summary at the beginning of the session and will introduce rules as they come up in game. That said, if you are the kind of person that likes to know the rules going in I will make sure you can look over rules beforehand.

What al brings to the table

I'll prepare the game in Roll20 and bring the Vampire: The Masquerade 5th Edition books on Demiplane. I also bring my knowledge of the setting.

How al creates a safe table

Players will fill out a palette document before the first session. The document can be added to at any time. Script Change buttons are available in VTT and Discord. Players can also say Script Change/phrases like "Stop" or "Rewind" to invoke the safety tool.
