About the adventure

The world of Aatema awaits you in Divine Intervention. A terrible vision of a future to come sets in motion an unforgettable journey. A priest from the human kingdom of Lions Den sends a missive: a secret mission to be carried out by those chosen by fate. An insidious force threatens to destroy the Four Pillars that hold the world together. Without them, Aatema will surely be plunged into despair, as the Gods themselves will fall one by one. They must be restored, by any means necessary. Such is the Will of the Divine Council. Journey across the landscape of Aatema on a thrilling adventure meeting vibrant and unique cultures. Carry the grace of the Gods, or lack thereof, with you as you save others from peril. Fight a fearsome array of monsters throughout the world as you uncover the secrets of Aatema's dark past, and learn if the Gods' intentions are truly noble. Your devotion and courage will be tested, as enemies of Mortals hide behind every corner, waiting to strike. Find the Pillars, discover a way to prevent this dark future, and don't lose yourself along the way.

About me

Hi there! I'm Matt, and Ive been a tabletop fan and ForeverDM for over 10 years. I've played a wide variety of games, but mainly have experience with D&D 3.5 and 5th, Vampire The Masquerade 20th, and Daggerheart. Im always open to try something new, and I love to create interesting games and stories with others. Im influenced by a lot of Manga and Videogames and I love having a cinematic feel to my games. I believe in strong collaboration between everyone at the table, with my aim being that everyone feels comfortable, safe, and has a great time.

Character creation

Creating your character

Players can choose to make their own character on Demiplane, or go through a step-by-step instruction with the GM. All players start at Level 1. Players may allocate Stats, Starting Equipment, and Domain Cards as per normal character creation rules. Character experiences to be decided together to facilitate an interesting party dynamic. Each character gains an additional item of personal significance related to the Gods of Aatema. Options from The Void playtest materials are allowed.

What Matt brings to the table

Players can expect a number of exciting things from my DM Style: 1. Memorable NPCs and Great RP With my background in acting, I bring to life a wide range of different characters, all with their own voices, desires, and motivations. Whether its a cold and dangerous enemy or a bizarre mushroom wizard, every character, improvised or written, is made with passion 2. Collaborative Worldbuilding Divine Intervention is a game I've run many times in the past, and by far the most fun part about it is what you bring to the table. It is a world designed to be filled by players' ideas and inspiration. Aatema is a world where your fantasies can be realized. At the end of the day, if you are the ones who help build the world, you'll also want to fight to save it. 3. Play characters Your Way I go to great lengths to make sure my players are completely satisfied with their characters and are able to flavour them how they wish. Character creation seems daunting, but it doesn't have to be. I'm dedicated to making your character unique to you and am more than happy to go through meticulous detail to make sure you are happy. 4.Cinematic Combat Over the years I have consistently worked on bridging the gap between Narrative Play and Combat Rules, blending the two together to help create cinematic fights between PC's and adversaries. I believe that the rules should always enhance the story, not detract from it.

Safety

How Matt creates a safe table

During session 0, I will go over the themes that will be present during the story, letting players know what kind of possibly distressing material may be encountered. My games always have an Open Door policy, and my private DM's are always open if players wish to discuss their potential triggers. During game I also utilise the X,N and O system using both Roll20's chat function, discord voice call, as well as the X,N, O card deck addon included in Roll 20.
