About the adventure
What if Strahd escaped his existence in Barovia, only to be trapped anew in an unknown lands to the west? Or What if we told a swashbuckling adventure among the stars, on air ships that sail the breathable space between planets? Or What if we combined genres to build a world to tell our own unique story? Would our heroes be the saviors? Or would they tear it down and build something new? -- I love collaborative roleplaying games and Daggerheart is the convergence of simple mechanics and engaged storytelling. In our game, we'll begin by exploring the story we want to tell & establishing the basics of the setting. With this foundation, we'll create the heroes who will inhabit our story. We'll ask big questions, setting precedence by exploring concepts like magic, mythology & technology. And finally, we'll build the challenges that the setting will bring to our heroes. And then we'll play… to find out what happens. We'll do all of this in Daggerheart, from Critical Role & Darrington Press.

About me
As with every profile, it's a work in progress. Most ttrpg folks have a dice kink. I have a systems kink. I have more books and systems than I'm ever going to be able to play, but I am damn sure gonna try. Here to run games I love and explore games that others do. Want me to run something particular? Let's have a conversation and figure it out.

What Johnnie brings to the table
An eye for mature storytelling and a collaborative approach to build our story that fits the group at the table. I will have all of the game material accessible to the players. We’ll use Demiplane for sharing Daggerheart materials and characters and discord for voice/video communication. This will be a narrative first game filled with story and combat. We'll play with the rule of cool, but won't ignore the rules either.

Safety
How Johnnie creates a safe table
Daggerheart is at its core a collaborative storytelling. How the narrative gets shaped is largely up to the players. So we will discuss safety tools before our game session, set clear limits on where the story will not go and then do a check in after the game. In Discord, we’ll discuss the use safety tools with the following goals: - content warnings and what they mean for the game. - establish lines and veils document for things that are off limits - An X card to acknowledge concerns during the session. - An open door policy, which means that you are free to step away and leave at any time if something doesn't feel right.
